When brunch was complete, Arnav had to take a phone call, changing up today's plans. I used that moment to my advantage to keep some distance from him. Given his whole every surface challenge - which I still think is preposterous - I may as well keep a little distance when I can and hope to not encourage him.

Sure, this morning was sweet and all but come on, this is my husband we're talking about after all. I have to keep my guard up.

Which is exactly what I did as I cleaned about the house.

I still can't believe that of all the things this man could want, this had to be the thing my husband was requesting.

"Ridiculous," I muttered to myself as I prepared dinner, working away in the kitchen. "Of course he'd ask of such a... preposterous thing."

I'm honestly still not over such bold a request!

"Cover every surface - he hardly holds me in his arms, but sure, cover every surface," I mocked.

...okay, so I'm totally lying, I know! I know very well that my husband pulls me into his arms quite often... but still- "What the!"

A strong pair of arms pulled me into them, bringing my back to Arnav's chest.

"Arnav-!"

He brought his cheek against mine. "That is probably the biggest lie I have ever heard in my life..."

Oh no, he heard me talking to myself!

"...not to mention come from you, wife."

"I-"

"But if this is your way to get me to hold you in my arms, I am more than happy with this excuse," and he nuzzled the side of my face.

"Arnav, let me go-"

"You were just complaining that I hardly ever hold you in my arms. Now you want me to let go?"

"Arnav, I have to finish making these rotis-"

"Your arms are free to do what you will."

"I don't enough have enough space-"

Arnav nuzzled along the side of my face again. "I'm sure you'll manage," he grinned.

Ugh, how can I ever turn this man away?

"If these get burnt, you will be eating them," I tried to say sternly.

"Gladly."

I couldn't help the smile on my face and tried to work around Arnav's hold. Once I had all the rotis made, I turned my head to him.

"Now may I be released so that I can take this to the table?"

His eyes looked me up and down. "Fine; I'll release you for now wife."

I couldn't help but to roll my eyes with a grin, and when Arnav let me go, I picked up the food to bring it to the table. Arnav helped as well, bringing other stuff to the table, then we settled in and began to eat.

"You know... it feels a little weird eating all alone at a big table," I said, glancing around.

"It's not that bad."

"Mm, yes and no," I said shaking my head from side to side. "Usually most of these seats are filled so I'm used to it. But to see them empty... I don't know, just a little odd."

"Well I don't mind it."

"Really," I frowned.

"Really," he affirmed. "For one thing, I can hold my wife's hand without any issues," he said, taking my free hand in his.
