The night that Sylvia Harris, Wilder Mellon, and Holly Rothschild decided to visit Seattle, Mallory Shepherd could've sworn it was raining harder than it had in months. At one of the finest restaurants in the city, Mallory sat in a circle with her closest friends, watching as the drips fell from the window.
In order to get a good diagnosis, doctors have to constantly change their perspective.
We start by getting the patient's point of view, though they often don't have a clue what's going on.
So we look at the patient from every possible angle. We rule things out. We uncover new information...
When Mallory glanced down at her phone to check the time, it was then that she realized it was dead. And she wasn't exactly sure how long it had been dead for, realizing that this was the first time she had checked it in hours.
"Hey," Wilder spoke up when he noticed Mallory's brows furrow. "What's going on with you over there? You've gone awfully quiet."
"I just realized that my phone was dead," Mallory answered as she set it back down. "Has Alex tried to call any of you?"
"Um," Holly's eyes went wide when everyone turned to her, as she was the only one out of the three friends to bring a phone with her. "Where even is my phone?"
"Holly, you were supposed to be the one to carry the phone and watch for calls," Sylvia stressed to her. "What did you plan to do when your assistant called or your staff?"
Holly waved her hand, dismissing her friends who had lectured her for years about keeping track of her things. She started to dig through her purse, which was the size of a suitcase, making Sylvia roll her eyes dramatically.
Trying to get to what's actually wrong.
We're asked for second opinions, hoping we'll see something others might have missed.
For the patient, a fresh perspective can mean the difference between living and dying. For the doctor...
By the time Holly found the phone in her purse and opened it, she had a look of guilt take over her face. "Shit, he's called me five times."
