𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 - 𝐣𝐨𝐞𝐲𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲, 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧
First, do no harm. As doctors, we pledge to live by this oath. But harm happens. Then guilt happens, and there's no oath for how to deal with that.
The next morning, when Mallory Shepherd and Alex Karev walked into Seattle Grace, Mallory was on her phone, calling Callie again and again after she didn't see her car in the parking lot. But each time, her calls went ignored.
Each time it went to voicemail, Mallory glared her eyes at the phone, the last time she shouted into the phone. "Callie, I swear to go, when I get a hold of you, you and I are going to have words! Oh, and tell Mark we're having words too! Except he's getting my fist in his nose, and he can fix it himself."
Alex watched, amused by her threats. "Have I ever told you how much I love it when you're angry?"
"Yeah, I've heard. They actually did it." Mallory's eyes were wide as she looked at him. "She slept with Mark. Right after breaking up with George."
"In her defense, he deserved it—"
"I know he deserved it!" Mallory interrupted him with a shake of her head. "She fell right into Mark's trap, I should've protected her better—"
"I'm sorry," Alex stopped her with furrowed brows. "Mark's trap?"
Mallory dramatically rolled her eyes as she explained. "Yes, Alex, his trap. He finds someone who is struggling with their own personal problems, and he sleeps with them. Classic Mark. It's like they can't stay away."
"Well, I'm sure she'll tell you how she regrets it when she gets here."
When they got to the locker room, all of the other interns in their group were already there. George and Meredith stood with Cristina as they talked loudly about Izzie Stevens, who stood at her locker, ignoring them.
"She's losing it," Meredith said to George and Cristina as they walked in. "She almost battered and deep fried an 8 million dollar check this morning."
"That kind of money," Cristina spoke in amazement. "I'd buy my own hospital and stock it full of sick people. Vavuloplasties and ruptured aneurysms. Hmm."
George scrunched his face as he added. "You are a psycho. You know that, right?"
She only raised a brow in response. "Okay. I'm not the one with an 8 1/2 million dollar check that I won't cash."
"Stop talking about me. I'm fine. I'm cleaning out my locker and I'm going home," Izzie insisted, forcing a smile. "Mer is the one with problems."
Mallory looked directly at Meredith as she asked. "You still haven't told Derek about Finn?"
