It was early in the morning when Jackson Avery and Louis Carmichael stopped over at Mallory Shepherd and Alex Karev's apartment. It was the first time that Jackson had stopped over to their apartment and was surprised to see how nice the building was, especially since Louis was its owner.
"You're telling me that you own this entire building, Louis?" Jackson asked as he stood in the kitchen with Mallory and Louis. "The whole thing?"
"Yeah," Louis answered with a simple shrug. "It was actually my sister's building. I traded it for a ring."
"Let's not forget that the trade was to figure out where I was," Mallory reminded him as she narrowed her eyes. "This was when Louis followed me all the way from New York."
"I've said it before," Louis was quick to insist. "I learned what I know from the master."
Just then, Alex brought Carter out of his bedroom, already changed into his outfit for the day. As he joined his wife and friends in the kitchen, he questioned. "Is there actually a camera crew coming to the hospital?"
"We're the subjects of a documentary," Louis confirmed with a shake of his head. "I never thought the first time I'd be on film would be for a documentary. How disappointing."
"I know, right," Mallory retorted with a sigh. "They're not filming anywhere near the daycare, are they?"
"No, I talked to Bailey about that yesterday. She said that it was stated explicitly that around the daycare was off limits," Alex explained as he set Carter down in his high chair. "At least someone will have a peaceful day."
With a shrug of his shoulders, Jackson added. "I don't know how I feel about it all. Do you think they're gonna ask us to talk about the shooting?"
"That's all they're gonna want us to talk about."
"Hm," Jackson nodded slowly. "I wonder how I'll be able to get around that."
"I just want this whole thing to be over with," Mallory concluded with a roll of her eyes. "Just when it felt like everyone was moving on, bam, they want us right back where we were. It's just, it's frustrating."
The only optimistic one of the bunch was Alex Karev, who didn't seem bothered in the slightest as he countered. "On the bright side, it's like we're celebrities."
"We are the subjects of a documentary, Alex," Louis bluntly reminded him. "There is nothing glamorous about this."
"You hear that, Carter?" Alex directed his attention to Carter, who instantly smiled. "Your uncle has no hope."
