The morning before their shift at the hospital, Callie Torres and Lexie Grey were over at Mallory Shepherd and Alex Karev's apartment. Mallory sat with the two women at the kitchen table, talking over their cups of coffee, while Alex sat at the counter, trying his best to ignore them.

It's intense, what happens in the OR...

When lives are on the line and you're poking at brains like they're Silly Putty.

"How have you been since last night?" Mallory asked Callie, but she didn't answer. "It wasn't your fault, you know that. She was gonna leave anyway."

"I don't know," Callie shook her head as she replied. "I'm more worried Cristina's gonna resent me for it."

"Even if she does, she'll get over it," Mallory declared with a nod. "Trust me. Hahn wasn't giving her the time of day. She was pushing Cristina away from cardio, which is what makes Cristina Cristina."

"She is very right about that," Lexie was quick to add. "I bet she's celebrating."

Callie shrugged her shoulders before she declared. "I don't wanna talk about Hahn. I wanna talk about something else. Anything else."

"Okay, actually, I have a question for you," Lexie spoke up, shifting uncomfortably in her chair, which made Callie's brows furrow. But Lexie turned to Alex as she continued. "As long as someone promises not to say anything."

"Do you seriously think I'm listening?" Alex responded with a raised brow. "Fine, fine, I won't say anything."

"And you know that I'll make sure of it," Mallory told her, eager to hear what she was going to ask. "Now, talk."

Lexie let out a sigh, still hesitant to say what she was about to ask. She turned to Callie as she questioned. "Was George nice when you were with him? I mean, I know about the cheating, but besides that?"

"Sure, yeah. O'Malley's a nice guy, and his family's even better," Callie admitted with a shrug. "There was a lot of hurt there, but I don't know, I got over it."

"He cheated on you, right?" Lexie asked next. "With Izzie?"

"Yeah. That's what ended the marriage," Callie confirmed before she sighed. "Well, and the fact that he hid the fact that he was cheating with Izzie. He messed with my mind and his own, and not intentionally. Because he was that ashamed, he got revenge on himself with that amount of guilt."
