Most of the time, we can't tell what's wrong with somebody just by looking at them. After all, they can look perfectly fine on the outside, while their insides tell us a whole different story.
Early in the morning at Mallory Shepherd's apartment, she and Alex were up, packing his things for a camping trip. As she helped him pack the items he would need, it occurred to her that she had never known he liked to camp.
"Are you sure you want to go camping?"
"Why do you have to say it like that?" Alex asked her in reply. "It isn't that bad. That's what we considered a vacation in Iowa."
"But it's with my brother," she stressed to him. "My brother, who has no idea that we're sleeping together or that I even have feelings for you—"
"Mal, don't stress about it," he insisted, giving her a look. "It won't be that bad."
Mallory raised a brow in response as she shoved some of his clothes into the backpack. "You're a brave soul. I'll tell you that much."
"You're acting like I agreed to go with Sloan," Alex pointed out next with a simple shrug. "He's way scarier than Derek is."
"Okay, I suppose you're right," Mallory agreed, raising her hands in defense before she questioned next. "Do you have everything? Bug spray and I don't know—"
"I'm sure I'll manage," he chuckled as he kissed her. "You don't need to worry, Mal. It's just a little bit of manly time in the woods."
She narrowed her eyes as she asked. "Who's all going to be there again?"
"Actually, I don't know, Richard, Shepherd, who knows?" Alex answered before he raised his brows suggestively. "If only you could come with, tent sex is so hot."
"Okay, away you go."
