In 6500 BC, some guy looked at his sick friend and said, "I have an idea. Why don't I drill a hole in your skull? It'll make you feel better."
And thus, surgery was born.
It takes a certain brand of crazy to come up with an idea like drilling into somebody's skull. But surgeons have always been a confident bunch.
Over the next few days, Callie Torres and Cristina Yang got the apartment in Mallory and Alex's building, which made Izzie Stevens more than pissed at the two. With the help of Mallory, Callie handled all of the apartment signing and talking to the landlord, which helped secure Louis Carmichael's secret without Cristina knowing anything.
In the morning before their shifts, Mallory Shepherd and Alex Karev helped them move into their new apartment, which was on the floor below them. Meredith Grey and Erica Hahn were there as well, helping with all of the different boxes.
"Your clothes, your room," Callie stressed to Cristina as they walked into the apartment. "The living room will not be a dumping ground like the old place was."
While she ignored what she said, Cristina went to set down the box anyway. But right then, Erica walked in. She raised a brow as she asked. "Did you not hear her?"
Cristina picked up the box with narrowed eyes but didn't say anything in response. The residents made their way into what would be Cristina's bedroom while Erica and Callie started unboxing things in the kitchen.
"Okay," Meredith glanced behind her to make sure that the cardiothoracic surgeon wasn't nearby as she admitted. "She kinda scares me."
"I don't know, I like Hahn," Mallory added with a shrug of her shoulders. "I like Hahn, she's hardcore."
"No, she's scary," Cristina corrected her, rolling her eyes as she muttered. "Callie needs a new best friend."
"Great, now you're gonna get her started," Alex shook his head as he spoke. "Thanks, Yang."
Mallory's brows furrowed instantly as she started to get defensive. "Best friend? No, no, Erica Hahn is her friend. I am Callie's best friend."
"You know who needs a new best friend?" Alex laughed as he joked. "Mallory."
"Hey," Callie raised her voice from the living room as she tossed a pillow in his direction. "I heard that."
"I was joking, you know that," Alex retorted as he started looking around Cristina's bedroom. "It's funny how similar the apartments are. This one is just like ours, just without all of Mallory's touches."
