Even though there was hesitation in her decision, Mallory Shepherd decided enough was enough, and called Holly to ask her to tell Sylvia that both Louis Carmichael and Sadie Harris were in Seattle. She knew that it should've come from her, but also knew she'd never have the courage to pick up the phone.
We all get at least one good wish a year over the candles on our birthday.
Some of us throw in more. On eyelashes, fountains, and lucky stars.
And every now and then, one of those wishes comes true.
The only person that she told was Alex Karev, knowing that he wouldn't tell anyone else. The next morning, Louis Carmichael and Lexie Grey joined them at the apartment for breakfast. Mallory avoided the topic of her phone call to Sylvia, assuming it would be a few days before she arrived.
"Louis, I still can't believe that you decided to operate on Sadie," Mallory said with a shake of her head. "Especially because you know how much her father hates you."
Lexie raised a brow as she questioned. "Why does Sadie's father hate you?"
"It's not important—"
"Ooh, I'll explain," Mallory interrupted with a grin. "Sylvia and Louis once snuck out of the country, and their father found out that they planned to get married. He already didn't like Louis; that just solidified his hatred."
Alex's brows furrowed, never having heard the story before. He turned to Louis as he asked. "You snuck the man's daughter out of the country to marry her? What made you think that was a good idea? Alcohol?"
"Why didn't you sneak off to Vegas like a normal person?" Lexie was quick to question next. "You had to go to another country?"
"It wasn't like that," Louis defended himself with his arms crossed. "It was Sylvia's idea—"
"I was there as a bridesmaid and witness, and it went exactly like that," Mallory added, laughing at his defensive behavior. "It was a mix of alcohol and teenagers having access to a private jet. Louis's parents took away his passport for a year after that."
Before Louis had a chance to defend himself further, there was a knock on the door. Everyone shared a look of confusion, not knowing who would knock on the door, as everyone always walked right through the door. Only a second later, the door swung open, revealing Sylvia Harris on the other side.
