When Alex Karev arrived at the hospital to drop off Carter at daycare, his wife was already there, after she had been called in early for rounds. Alex stopped at one of the nurse's stations, picking up his chart before he went down to daycare.
A hurricane is defined as a storm with violent winds.
He didn't stand there for very long before a woman with dark hair approached. Even though he knew he had never met her before, Alex Karev could've sworn that he had seen her somewhere before; he just wasn't sure as to where.
"Cute kid," the woman commented with a smile. "Do you know where I can find Doctor Shepherd?"
"That depends," Alex nodded as he replied. "Which one?"
"Derek, well, I guess you could send Mallory, but I don't know how that'll end," she answered, letting out a chuckle that only made Alex's brows furrow. "Her and I, let's just say that we don't get along."
"You don't get along with Mal?" Alex was quick to question. "But she gets along with like everyone."
His response made the woman let out a scoff. "Everyone except for me. I'm the special exception."
"Come on, if I know Mal, which I'd say I do pretty well by now, she doesn't like to hold a grudge," Alex insisted with a shrug. "Especially with close friends of hers. You must be another one of her friends from New York, right?"
It wrecks everything in its path...
"You think I'm one of her snobby friends?" the woman looked offended by his assumption. "No, I'm her sister, Amelia."
"Hold on, sister?" Alex repeated before he shook his head. "I thought she had four sisters. Nancy, Liz, Kathleen, and Addison."
Instantly, Amelia's brows furrowed, not understanding how he would've placed Addison Montgomery as the fourth sister. However, shortly after Alex had met Mallory and he had met Addison, he had assumed that she counted her as the fourth sister, simply because of how close they were. And the few times that Mallory had heard him say it, she never bothered to correct him.
"No, Mallory has four sisters. Nancy, Liz, Kathleen, and Amelia," Amelia was quick to correct him. "I'm Amelia."
"Amelia?"
"I'm not surprised that you've never heard of me," Amelia told him, which only made Alex look more confused. "She hasn't spoken to me since before she left New York. I mean, that was at least seven years ago."
