!angst!
I never usually write angst just because I prefer my stories to distract from all the real angst but I am feeling angsty myself so just this once I will allow it. So sorry to all of you who are going to be sad after this 😅

If I could run faster I would but my legs didn't let me.
If I could say no to staying faster I would but my mouth couldn't speak.
He tore my heart out. He couldn't make me love this town any less. The only reason I ever stuck around was for him. That asshole.

Beacon Hills is the Petri dish of bad luck and the supernatural. But once again I came back. I came back for the people I loved. I was run out months ago but I always knew I'd come back.
I was curious, as my Uber pulled up to the clinic, what they had been up to the past year.
The bell dinged and Scott peaked his head out and his eyes widened when he saw me.
"Y/n." He smiled and bounced over to me looking like a puppy. He opened his arms and pulled me into him.
"Hey Scott." I sighed and rubbed his back quickly.
"What are you doing here?" He asked still smiling.
"You know I couldn't stay away."
"I figured."
"Should I go somewhere else?" I motioned to the door.
"Oh no. I'm done in a few minutes. Just hang out while I clean up."
"Okay. Sure." I nodded and sat on a grey plastic chair in the waiting room. The clinic had the same smell as every other clinic I've been to. I fostered a black cat for a few months and had traveled to many clinics. But that is neither here nor there.
Scott cleaned up quickly and turned off the lights. The back door swung open and I heard a familiar sporadic voice.
"Scott? You ready? I'm ready to go. It's cold."
"Hey do you mind if you take one more person?"
"Aw Scott." Stiles groaned "who is it this time? Ya know, I don't just take random people around in my beautiful jeep."
"Well I hope you can make an exception for me." I  walked behind the counter to where the boys were standing.
"Holy shit! Ha ha!" Stiles cheered "Y/n! Y/n!"
He jumped into my arms and laughed loudly.
"Hi stiles."
"I can't believe you're here! Oh I have so much to tell you. I have so much to update you on!"
"Okay okay! You can tell me on the way back to Scott's house."

"-And then Derek walked into the boiler room and just got ripped to shreds. Did I mention one of the werewolves was his sister?"
"How is Derek by the way?"
"Well... he's been beaten up a lot in the past couple days but... he seems to be okay." Scott interjected.
"That's... good at least."
"Have you not talked to him?" Stiles asked, peering at me through the rear view mirror.
"No. I've tried calling but after a while he stopped answering. He hasn't like... got a girlfriend right?"
"Not that I know." Stiles shrugged
"Okay good. I mean... not good... just like... alright. Fine. It's fine I mean."
"Uh huh." Stiles scrunched his face at the awkwardness of my reply.
My body internally trembled at the conversation we just had.
We pulled into Scott's driveway and all piled out of the car and into his house. Lydia and Allison were already waiting at the house. When we got in the air seemed thick and Scott and Allison were avoiding each other. I sent Scott a look and he shook his head. They must have broken up.
"I've only been gone since June. What the hell happened to this group?" I whispered to Scott
"A lot. We are just trying to figure out what is going on."
"Human sacrifices. That's what's going on."
"I'm sorry..." I looked at stiles with a squint "did you say... human sacrifices?"
"Yes throat cutting, skull crushing sacrifices."
"Holy shit." I crossed my arms and scowled.
"We think... they are human sacrifices." Scott clarified.
"No, you think. I know."
"Stiles is usually right." I nodded.
"See? This is why we need her. She's the voice of reason."
The door squeaked open and Issac walked in.
"Issac!" I smiled. His face dropped when he saw me standing in the living room.
"Y/n." His face lit up and he ran to scoop me into a hug.
"Is this everyone?" I asked
"Yeah. We have a small group right now."
They all briefed me on what had been going on and it really was a lot. They had mentioned the woman that Derek had saved and a pit formed in my stomach. Was it jealousy? Maybe. It was hard to tell.
