I just finished finals for this semester so I'm writing about it because my test scores have been really good!
I also found out that I have to take the SATs on my birthday this year... yaaaayyyyy me🙄
F/s- favorite snack

I got home from school and opened the big metal door with a grunt. I was so extremely tired from today. I had tested all day and my brain was practically fried.
I chucked my backpack down onto the ground beside the desk and threw myself onto the couch.
"Derek!" I shouted. He grumbled as he made his way down the loft stairs.
"Yes?" He asked.
"I'm home!" I scoffed, astounded that he didn't ask me how my day went
"I know, I can hear."
I widened my eyes and gave him a look of 'aren't you gonna ask me how my day went?'
"Okay well, I'll be upstairs cleaning the bathroom." He turned around and walked back upstairs.
"Unbelievable, this man is...so dumb." I shook my head and sighed.
I walked out of the house and got in dereks car to drive to Scott's house.
I walked in and was greeted with many hugs from the pack.
"So how's your finals go?" Lydia asked.
I looked down and sighed but quickly looked back up with a smile
"I aced every single one of them." I smiled
Lydia and I screamed as we hugged each other.
"How's you do?"
"All a's." She replied simply.
"Yeah bug shocker!" I joked. I turned to look at the rest of the pack "What about you guys?"
"Pretty good. A's and B's." Scott shrugged
"A's." Liam, Kira, stiles, and mason said in unison
"I barely scraped by." Malia mumbled
"Hey, but you did it!" I reassured her.
"I guess."
"So?" Lydia asked me
"So what?"
"So what's Derek gonna do to help celebrate? Remember, he said he was gonna surprise you if you did well!"
My face turned pale.
"Oh... right... uh, funny story is... he uh... he didn't even ask when I got home today. He just walked away. He didn't even say hi when I walked in the door."
Everyone's face turned sour.
"What? But he was so excited! He was your number one supporter throughout this! He knows how much your grades mean to you." Stiles spewed starting to get angry
"I-I know. Which is why I was so confused."
"I'm pretty sure he was just busy. Derek would never forget about something like this. It's way too important to just forget!" Scott tried to calm my nerves. He hugged me tightly and kissed the top of my head.
"Right." I nodded trying to convince myself it was okay.
"How about we all go back to y/ns place and we can celebrate there? It's a lot more spacious than my house and we can get some cake and some snacks and we will have a little celebration?" Scott asked as he looked at me for approval.
"Yeah of course! Why not?!" I cheered.
I got back into dereks car with Lydia and we all drove to the store.
"Hey, are you sure you're okay with what happened today?" She asked as I drove silently.
"I'm fine. Im sure it just went over his head."
"That doesn't make it hurt any less. It was really important to you. You're life is your grades. The fact that he could have forgotten sucks."
"I-I know. I just..." I sighed as I reached a red light. I put my head back on the seat and thought.
"Hey, we will cheer you on. All of us."
"Thanks Lyds."
"No problem beauty queen." She stroked my cheek lovingly and we pulled into the store.
"Everyone here?" I asked as we all piled out of our cars like clowns.
"Yep!" Everyone rang.
"Okay. You all can pick one item for a snack or drink! We will meet up at the bakery to choose a cake together in 10ish minutes okay?"
Everyone either nodded or said a quick 'yep'.
"Go!" I shouted. Everyone ran off with their partner or their small group. I was left alone as Lydia wanted to be with Scott and stiles. Which was fine with me, no hard feelings at all. At least her boyfriend acknowledged her successes.
I walked in and looked around the store for a good snack that I was craving. I finally made my decision and got some f/s.
"I'm satisfied with my choice." I said to myself as I walked away with my item.
I went up to the register and paid quickly. The lady at the counter said a have a good day and i walked back to the bakery section.
Everyone slowly pooled in and we decided on a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream in the center.
"Sounds perfect!"
"Any writing?" The man asked as he picked up the cake.
"How about 'Crushed finals'?" Malia asked.
"Absolutely!" I agreed.
"Okay!"
"Sure!"
The man wrote it in beautiful purple icing and handed it to us all boxed up.
"Thank you so much."
"You kids have a good day! Don't party too hard!" He laughed.
"We won't!"

We all got back into our cars, we switched it up this time and Scott was riding with me.
"So Derek will be okay with this?"
"At this point, screw him. This is my time to celebrate."
"I like that mentality." Scott smiled.
"Me too."

We made it to our house and I had everyone pile into the elevator, watching the cake so we didn't ruin it, and made our way into the loft.
"Derek we are back!" I shouted as I walked in with the cake.
"You guys can spread your stuff out on the counter if you have shareable stuff! I'll get some cups and we can pour ourselves some drinks."
Derek walked down the stairs with his hands in his pocket and his eyes went wide as he saw us set up our stuff

Dereks POV
"Scott what is all this?"
"It's a party!" He replied with a smile.
"For what?"
"We are celebrating our good scores from finals."
My heart sunk.
Finals. Y/ns finals. They were today. I forgot.
"Oh shit."
"It's okay Derek. She's just a little frustrated that's all. Don't sweat it too hard."
"Don't sweat it?!" I whisper yelled.
I grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him into a room far away.
"Scott, I promised her so much stuff if she did well on her finals. I promised I'd take her out to dinner, watch a movie with her, get her all her favorite snacks and go to the park after we got ice cream. She had an entire day planned out that I agreed to. And I can't even remember that? Scott she was so excited for it all. I had never seen her so happy in her life."
"Well then go tell her you're sorry. Tell her you'll still do that."
"Scott that's not the point. The point is I shouldn't have messed it up in the first place!"
"Well, there's nothing you can do now. Go show her how you'll fix it."
I walked out of the room feeling absolutely terrible. I walked over to her as she was talking to Liam and mason.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" I whispered in her ear.
She nodded and told them she'd be back
I pulled her upstairs and sighed.
"Look baby, I am so so so so sorry. I know how much these grades meant to you and I know how much you wanted your day to happen and that's completely on me. I forgot, I messed up, I'm entirely to blame here. But I can still make it up to you. We can do anything you want tomorrow, I will buy you whatever you want, I won't complain about anything, I'll let you you do your entire day like you wanted. Again, this is all my fault and i feel so bad. I was a terrible boyfriend."
Y/n looked at me with glossy eyes and she wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Thank you Derek. I really appreciate the words. But if I'm being honest, all I want is for you to say you're proud of me. I want you to be happy for me and recognize my accomplishments. The dinner and the shopping and everything else isn't what I really want. Is it nice and does it seem fun? Absolutely, but that's not what I'm really after. I just want you to be proud of me." A couple tears left her eyes and I immediately swiped them away.
"I am proud of you, I'm so beyond proud of you. And I do recognize your accomplishments. I'm just an asshole and I can't keep one thing in mind." I hugged her even tighter and she laughed.
"A little too tight Derek! Can't breathe!"
"Oh sorry." I let her go and she looked up at me.
"Thank you Derek." She whispered. I looked down at her and then at her lips specifically. I really wanted to kiss her.
"You know you can just kiss me if you want to. We aren't a new couple." I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers. She always tasted like flowers smell. Fresh and sweet. Delicate and soft.

Y/ns POV
I felt his body as he kissed me. I could tell it was different than usual. It's normally romantic and protective. This time it's soft, gentle, and sweet. It's full of pure love and compassion. I grazed my hands up his chest and around his neck. I ran my fingers through the hair on the back of his head and sighed contently as he let go of my lips.
"Come on. We have a party to go to."
