A Lot More Hermitcraft Stuff

just some possibly funny notes about my struggles when trying to draw the hermits, enjoy my suffering

-lol what are side views we don't know her here-

-IMPULSE YOU HAVE THE MOST GENERIC YET MOST DIFFICULT HAIR TO DRAW GODDAMN IT-

-how the hell do beards work-

-me trying to divide 22 hermits among 7 different drawings: yes this is a very good idea

-also me trying to put about 6 people in one 8.5 x 11 composition: yES THIS IS A VERY VERY GOOD IDEA

-Ren has so much going on on his face like wtf-

-sCAR SIR YOUR HAT IS RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO DRAW-

-fun fact: i've never drawn Keralis, BDubs, Iskall, Biffa, or Impulse (who i am actually drawing currently)

-i have mastered the art of grayscale coloring (by which i mean, i draw with a pencil a lot and have to use many shades of gray to portray the "colors")

-another fun fact: i rarely ever sketch for digital and never sketch for traditional (aka im lazy lmao)

-i always end up drawing Ren with overalls goddamn it-

-a bit off topic but, is Iskall's skin now just him in a suit?? or will he eventually go back to his old skin??

-my brain: you should draw the oversaturated hermits
me: hold on im drawing 7 other drawings first
my brain: you should draw Iskall and Mumbo's conjoined skins
me: i said hold on
my brain: you should draw-
me: *unholy screeching*

-okay yeah i might have dug myself a very deep hole by drawing 22 people within 7 different drawings but ssshhhh its based off a poem i made so just hold on-

-tips for drawing hands/hand poses:

*try to do the pose yourself and look at your hand in the mirror

*use your thumb and pinkie as anchor points to show first how big your hand is and where it starts/ends

*when your palm is facing behind you, your thumb is closer to your body and your pinkie is further away

-drawing eyes will forever be the death of me

-drawing bare feet is a lot harder than people give them credit for-

-i have yet to figure out what i want Wels' visor/helmet thing to look like and combined with his wavy-ish hair i give him he has become ridiculously hard to draw

-the way i distinguish Zed and Grian's hair because they look so similar: Grian has a bigger side fringe (like his skin) while Zed has smaller and a more swooshy-like fringe (fringe?? bangs???)

-Impulse and Scar's hair always gives me so much difficulty even tho they're so generic but for some reason i just have so much damn trouble-

-i've never properly drawn Iskall or Cub for the same of "how the fuck do beards work"

-Doc's robot arm is always fun to draw because of the design :D

-eVERYONE HAS THE SAME SHOES GOD FUCKING DAMN IT-

-i haven't drawn Mumbo in a long time for the sole reason being i have no idea how to draw his hair

-Cleo is super fun to draw because of her stomach hole, stitches, and flower crown <3

-when you can't draw the second eye being it just never looks right/even: *draws them winking*  p e r f e c t

-elbows and knees will forever be the death of me

-HOW DO YOU DRAW WINGGSSSS *distant screeching*

-what i like drawing: Cleo's stitches/body cavity, False's goggles, Stress (just in general), Grian's sweater, Doc's robot arm, Ren/Xisuma/EX's ponytails, Joe's glasses, literally all the accessories lmao

-what i hate drawing: Wels' visor/helmet thing, Impulse/Scar's hair, Cub/Iskall's beards, how in the hell do you draw Keralis' eyes, Doc's mechanical eye, Mumbo's hair

-how do people draw Keralis' eyes without making them look downright terrifying like what kind of sorcery is this

-*distant yelling in I LOVE YOU WELS BUT YOU'RE VERY HARD TO DRAW*

-fingerless gloves are great, change my mind

-i would draw buff Doc but i have no idea how to draw muscles so forgive me-

-Mumbo did not slave away, hauling all that shit to build his base, for ya'll to draw him like a fucking twig like honestly-
