Kiera clung to Simon's chest as she slept, occasionally groaning out of discomfort while she still conquered minor cramps, eventually turning over to sleep on her opposite side, her back facing towards him after she had adjusted her pillows. He looked over at her through the darkness, a beam of light from the outside light outlining her body, finding himself moving his right hand to swipe her blonde hair as she slept, the pads of his fingers moving the strands behind her ear and out of her face. They had faced the weekend by spending time with her parents and mainly staying at the ranch, the wranglers getting ready to ship off more cattle by the end of that week while they waited to hear back from the Brucellosis tests, hoping they all came back negative.

He sighed, looking over at the clock for it to read a quarter past seven a.m. It was Monday and he was planning on taking her to her second appointment with her OB. He had been unable to sleep well since finding out she was pregnant, especially after knowing that it was a risk knowing she conceived with an IUD - it was to say that he was nervous and hoping that she wouldn't have any complications with her pregnancy as well as thinking about how he was going to take down Shepherd, the General being the only threat that would complicate their months of waiting for the baby if she didn't have any complications.

Reaching over her quietly, he retrieved her phone and opened her messages to look for Laswell's phone number to make the call himself. He needed her help, especially considering that he wasn't about to let Kiera have any part of it. Seeing that she was in the middle of a conversation between one of her best friends, Kristen, he couldn't help himself but reading the most recent conversation after seeing his own name in the midst of it.
