"Up, Sergeant," I heard Ghost bark at me, watching me toss and turn on my cot before I opened my eyes at him. "You and I have some work to do."

"Like what? It's five in the morning!"

"Don't question me, Sergeant. You have some work to do to make up for that stunt you pulled last night."

I huffed before sitting up in my cot, running my fingers through my unkept hair before I sighed, "I'm sorry, L.T. What do I need to do?"

"You and I are going on a recon later."

"Hit on Hassan?"

"No. Alejandro asked me personally himself this morning if we'd do this."

Great.

I still wasn't over what happened last night and was quite pissed that we did all of that work just for the lass to advise us to let him go. She had a mouth on her, but I suppose that's why she's good at her job. She didn't take shit from anybody, including a wanted terrorist, and even me.

I deserved that punch she gave me, and I was embarrassed that she bruised my ego right in front of everyone, but I brought that on myself, too. Ghost was right – my bad habit of being too hot-headed got the best of me yet again to a person who was least deserving of it. I couldn't apologize to her just yet because I didn't know how to. I just hoped that she'd understand and let it go.

I was in no mood to listen to Ghost's orders, knowing that he woke me up at five a.m. just out of spite when we were told we could sleep in a bit because of our long day prior.

"Well, you said later. Why now?" I questioned him, knowing that anyone else wouldn't have the balls to retort back to their superior, but I felt I at least had some sort of seniority with Ghost. We've worked together a lot, and he knew about how much of a bastard I could be, and he didn't take shit from me either, yet I barely took shit from him.
