Kota laid in his bed staring at the ceiling. He had already opened all of his presents, and he was waiting for dinner to be cooked.

Christmas was always the happiest time of year for him, he loved the holiday spirit. But this year he was so busy contemplating whether or not to go to America that he lost his spirit.

He wanted to go so bad, but he also didn't. He'd be in unfamiliar territory, even though he spoke decent English he felt like he'd be outcasted anyways.

He felt a buzz in his pocket and grabbed his phone out of it.

*yo* A message came in from Katsuma.

The two hadn't spoken since there meetup almost a month prior.

*hi* He replied before looking back to the ceiling.

*have you decided yet? Times ticking* Katsuma messaged the boy.

Kota sighed.

*I don't know, it's a really hard choice...when do you leave for America?* Kota messaged back.

*31st.* He was immediately answered.

Kota put his phone down and sighed. He rolled his legs off of his bed and walked over to his window.

The moon lit up the snow in his backyard. He could imagine him and Eri building snowmen, having snowball fights. Everything he'd miss during the winter.

He'd miss the first summer of his high school life with her, he'd miss the festivals, the shrine visits, the school trips if there even were any.

He felt a few tears stream down his face and laughed at himself as he focused in on his own reflection.

He felt another buzz from his phone and opened it.

*?* Katsuma messages again and Kota sighs.

*give me until the 29th?* Kota asked the boy who immediately started typing.

*THE LATEST* He sent and Kota laughed a bit at his phone before putting a thumbs up reaction on the message and turning off his phone.

He then got another buzz. He rolled his eyes and opened his phone to see that this time it was from Eri. His eyes lit up.

*Kota! Merry Christmas! Sorry I never replied I've been really busy all day and my phone was dead.* Eri messaged the boy.

He chuckled to himself.

*it's fine, it never said my message delivered so I had assumed your phone died. Hope you had a good day with your family.* Kota smiled as he sent the message.

He walked over to his door and slowly opened it. Once he did his mother stood in front of him.

"Oh I was just about to come tell you dinner is ready!" His mother told him with a smile.

Kota laughed. "Well good, I'll go wash my hands quickly. Be right there!" Kota said as he turned to the bathroom.

A buzz came from his phone and he took it out as he entered the bathroom.

*attachment 1:image* He saw the notification.

He opened it up and saw Eri in the mirror of her bathroom, she had a red and white sweatshirt on along with a Santa hat on her head. She had a scrunched nose and puckered lips, one of her hands was showing a peace sign as well.

Kota chuckled to himself.

*you look great. Thanks for the new Lock Screen* Kota smiled as he messaged back Eri.

He put his phone on the counter and turned on the water, he washed his hands and as he did he saw his phone buzz on the counter.

He quickly finished up and grabbed it after drying his hands.
