This chapter is kind of a song chapter. It has a song in it, but it's not one of the character's singing it like in chapter 33/34. "Life's a mess" - juice wrld.
"Have you ever fallen head over heels for somebody?" The song started and Ochako slowly backed away from everyone.
"Not just somebody" Toga looked over to Tenko and saw him staring back at her.
"No, no"
"Have you fallen head over heels for somebody
That made promises to give you the world?" Tenko slowly started to walk toward Toga.
"Um"
"I really hope they held you down"
"I really hope it was no lying"
"'Cause when your heart breaks, it feels like the world's gone" Tenko felt a pit in his stomach start to form.
"But if the love's real, you'd feel your soul roar like a lion" Tenko got close to Toga.
"Hey..." He mumbled as the song continued.
"And you'd finally let bygones be bygones"
"Don't throw in the towel, I know it feels like you're the only one trying"
"You just gotta learn to live and love on"
"I belong with the one put on this Earth for me"
The two stared at each other, not breaking eye contact.
"Everybody has their someone, just gotta look and see"
"I'm screaming out, "Lord, help me, I've been lonely""
"That's when you accept me, then you set me free"
"Uh, sometimes life's a mess"
"I get high when I'm upset"
"I remember when me and love didn't click"
"Searching for somethin' real then I found it"
"Hey Tenko...can we talk?" Toga asked as the song continued. Tenko nodded.
"Uh, sometimes life's a mess"
"Yeah, I get high when I'm upset"
"Can we let bygones be bygones...?" Toga asked as she started to get overwhelmed with emotion.
"I remember when me and love ain't click"
"Looking for somethin' real then I found it"
Tenko froze. The lyrics of the song playing back in his head. "Himiko..." He called her by her first name.
"Been pretty fucking bad, but it's better now"
"Through the trials and tribulations, I found my way out"
Himiko's eyes widened as Tenko wrapped her in a hug.
"Feel all of the good and bad vibrations all around"
"All around us, they surround us"
"Was a lost cause with some lost love"
"It ain't my fault, pain chose us"
"Then I found her"
"My whole world turned upside down, uh
But for the better"
"I'm done being friends..." Tenko mumbled as the two stood in each other's arms. It felt as if they were the only two in the whole gym as the song continued.
"I belong with the one put on this Earth for me"
"Everybody has their someone, just gotta look and see"
"I'm screaming out, "Lord, help me, I've been lonely""
"I-I am too..." Himiko mumbled as tears threatened to leave her eyes.
"That's when you accept me, then you set me free~"
"Uh, sometimes life's a mess"
"I get high when I'm upset"
"I remember when me and love didn't click"
"Searching for somethin' real, then I found it~"
"Himiko, I'm sorry...I'm sorry I couldn't tell you sooner..." Tenko told the girl as they both started swaying side to side along with the song.
"Uh, sometimes life's a mess"
"Yeah, I get high when I'm upset"
"I remember when me and love ain't click"
"Looking for somethin' real, then I found it"
The final verse started as tears finally left Himiko's eyes. "I love you Tenko..."
"Thank God I finally found you"
"You put the light in my eyes when I'm around you"
"I love you too Himiko..." Tenko replied as tears started to stream down his face.
"I'm too flawed to hold you down, but
Don't wanna be here alone"
"And I thank God I finally found you"
"I'll put the light in your eyes if I'm allowed to

The two backed out of the hug and smiled at each other as the song came to a close.
"Don't let me be here alone~"
"Himiko...seriously I'm so so-" Tenko was cut off by Himiko placing her finger on his mouth.
"We can talk about it later...okay? Just don't let me be here alone." Himiko said as a small smile appeared on her face. The two were still crying.
"Ah...fuck." Tenko laughed at himself as he wiped tears off of his face.
"A song hasn't gotten me emotional in forever." Tenko told the girl who giggled.
"Same..." She said before sniffling.
"I know you said that we can talk later but, I need to know now...Himiko will you be with me? I want to start a relationship...a real one." Tenko suddenly said to Himiko who giggled again while nodding.
"Of course dummy...I've been waiting for you to say that." She said as she started to cry again, stuffing her face in the boys chest.
Ochako watched from the side as more music started to play. She smiled at the two.
'Good.' She thought to herself before slowly sneaking away from the crowd.
'Now time for me to enact my plan.' Ochako snuck out of the dance and started to run back home.
Once she arrived it was fully dark. Just as she wanted. She knocked on her door and Ochako's mom opened it. "Hey sweetie, how did it go with your friends?" Her mother asked as she walked into the house.
"It went great! They're finally hitting it off well instead of being in some stupid thing. I'm really happy!" Ochako smiled at the woman while she ran upstairs.
"I'll call Inko and tell her to drive him here!" Ochako's mom told the girl who nodded. "Thank you!"
Ochako ran into her room and looked on her bed. There laid her maroon red dress. She smiled as she started to take off the casual clothing she had on.
'This is gonna make homecoming look like nothing!'
