Chapter 2:Frienemies

Izuku nods his head at Ochako.

"I'm so sorry I stopped texting you, I got a new number and lost yours." Ochako says frowning at Izuku as she takes the seat next to him.

"I-it's okay..." Izuku answers quietly.

Ochako stares at him.

'He's...different...' Ochako thinks to herself.

Suddenly the classroom door opened up and revealed an angry looking man.

"My name is Mr.Aizawa, I'll be your homeroom teacher. I'll hand out your schedules and then you will be on your way." The man says to the class.

"Yes sir!" The class answers in unison, with Izuku mumbling it.

While Aizawa calls up the students to retrieve their schedules Ochako whispers to Izuku.

"Hey Izuku, wanna see if we have any classes together?" Ochako asks him.

Izuku gulps and nods.

Ochako hands her schedule to Izuku and he takes it in his hand.

As he reads through he notices they have a few classes together. They have Biology together, Gym together, World history together, and the same lunch period. He looks back to her and sees her eagerly anticipating his schedule.

He hands both schedules to her and her eyes light up.

"We have 4 periods together!" She says with a grin.

"Yeah..." Izuku says quietly.

"Are you still really good at school?" Ochako asks leaning her head on her hand while looking at him.

Izuku shrugs.

"I mean I usually get 90's but that's not really that special..." He responds to her staring at his hands that are on his desk.

Izuku glances at Ochako for her answer and sees her jaw dropped.

"W-what?!" Izuku says getting scared.

"That's awesome! No wonder you got into U.A!" She says smiling.

Izuku grows a slight smile.

'I guess you haven't changed that much...' Izuku thinks to himself.

"There it is!" Ochako says gaining Izuku's attention.

Izuku looks back and forth.

"W-what?" He says confused.

"Smile more, you look even better when you do." Ochako says tilting her head.

Izuku blushes a bit but nods with a small smile.

Todoroki walked up to the two and leaned his arm over izuku's shoulder. It startled him and he started shaking again.

"Hey you two, Izuku it's been a long time." Todoroki says smiling at his old friend.

"Y-y-yeah!" Izuku says overwhelmed.

Suddenly the school bell rang.

Everyone got up and walked into the halls. Izuku grabbed his string bag and walked out of the door. Before he knew it Ochako was walking next to him.

He looked over to her and saw her looking forward with a smile.

'Is she realty happy to see me? Or did she just notice I looked weird and wanted to sympathize...' Izuku thinks to himself while slowly going blank.

"So do you know where our Bio class is? It's our first class for the day." Ochako asks him bringing him out of his thoughts.

"Uh it's room 258 I think." Izuku says pulling out the schedule again.

He was right.

Ochako peaked over his arm to look at the schedule, making Izuku blush.

"You were right, cool!" She says going back to walking normally.

They arrive at the class and Ochako sits next to him again. Much to his dismay she seems to actually wanna rekindle the friendship they had.

Slowly more and more people enter the classroom.

"Yo! Uraraka!" A voice said gaining the attention of Izuku.

Ochako turned around and smiled.

"Kaminari you're in this biology class?!" Ochako said while getting up and walking over to him.

Izuku looked at his old friend Kaminari, he didn't get a phone until the middle of middle school so he didn't get izuku's number, so they hadn't talked in 3 years.

"Yeah and I'm really nervous! I suck at school!" Kaminari says before noticing Izuku.

His eyes light up and he elegantly dances like a ballerina toward Izuku.

"I have been blessed!" He says holding his palm out into the air.

"The smartest man on planet earth, Izuku Midoriya is back!" Kaminari finishes while putting his fist to his heart and exaggerating a happy expression.

Izuku just stares at him.

Kaminari goes silent for a few seconds before speaking again.

"Anyways man where have you been?!" He says patting Izuku on the back.

"Uh well...I moved away, but I moved back a few weeks ago and got into U.A." Izuku says surprising himself without smooth he spoke.

"That's great man our friend group missed you!" Kaminari says with a wide grin as he puts his hand out for a handshake.

Izuku hesitates but shakes his hand.

"Why did you move back? Didn't your dad get a job somewhere else? I thought that's why you moved away?" Ochako asks making Izuku feel a sudden pain in his stomach.

"S-sorry, I need to use the bathroom." Izuku says getting up and walking out of the room which confuses Ochako and Kaminari.

Izuku's mind spins as he tries to get through the hallway of new students, his breathing begins to get faster and he can feel tears threatening to leave his eyes.

'Not on the first day!' Izuku thinks to himself as he stops in the middle of the hall.

Suddenly he feels a pull on his bag and gets dragged into a corridor with no one there.

His breathing doesn't slow and he puts his head up against the wall.

"So..." A voice that Izuku recognizes says.

His breathing speeds up again and he tries to run back into the hall. He quickly gets stopped by the grab to his bag again.

"Why are you running from me huh?" The voice says.

Izuku slowly turns to look at him, and just as he expected it was his old frienemy.

Katsuki Bakugo.

"K-k-kacchan..." Izuku stutters while nailing himself to the wall he was near.

"Deku, where'd you go and why are you about to cry?" Katsuki asks the green haired boy.

"I-I moved away...but now I moved back and got into U.A." Izuku spits out quickly.

Katsuki grits his teeth.

"Whatever, dont think because I brought you out of your panic, that it means that we're friends." The boys says before knocking into izuku's shoulder as he goes into the main hall again.

Izuku shivers but then notices the almost empty main hall.

'Shit I'm gonna get marked absent!' Izuku thinks as he wipes his face with his sweatshirt and jogs to his class.
