Warm.

It's... so warm out...

She shielded her eyes from the blinding rays of the sun and turned her gaze to the sprawling field around her. A breeze picked up, rustled the grass and blew strands of her hair out of place, tickling her face.

I feel like I've been here before, Miyuki thought to herself as she turned around. Her breath hitched in her throat once she'd stopped – once she met a pair of purple, clock-like eyes staring back at her from the distance, set in a face untouched by the ticking hands of time. He smiled at her, and the corners of his eyes crinkled slightly. Miyuki rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

"I've really got to quit the caffeine..." she murmured, blinking frantically, expecting to find herself slumped back over the chaise in the teacher's lounge with Present Mic's voice blaring in her ears. A yawn escaped her mouth. "...And get more sleep. Jeez..."

And yet, the mirage of her father remained. Smiling. It puzzled her, but it mostly made her chest tighten in discomfort. More so when he opened his palm, and sitting there in the middle of his hand was a chess piece; but not just any piece, the one she could never quite take from him during their matches. The queen.

"Don't forget, Yu-Chan..." Mirai spoke softly, now standing right in front of her. "Don't forget... how the brightest lights... fade..."

Her brows furrowed in confusion as she reached for him. "What? Papa, I don't..."

A door slammed. She jolted and her eyes flew wide open.

"IT'S THE ONE, THE ONLY..." Present Mic took a deep breath. Miyuki, bleary eyed, barely registered what was going on before she found herself slung under his arm with a hand ruffling her already slightly messy hair. "LEGENDARY BRIGHT GIRL!!"

"Could you not be so loud, please..." Izuku mumbled, looking just as tired as his best friend felt. "Classes are in session just down the hallway."

"My bad, kid," said Present Mic – still louder than normal, but Miyuki and Izuku guessed that was his own version of an 'inside voice', so they just let it be. "I guess I couldn't help myself. I mean, it ain't everyday you get the number three hero herself gracing the halls of U.A.!"

Miyuki giggled. "I'm happy to see you as well, Mic-San. It's definitely an upgrade from relying on the radio every morning at ten o'clock."

"You tune in... to my station...?! Even now, you're still so awesome, kid...!" Present Mic threw an arm over his face as he got emotional, causing Aizawa to grumble under his breath when he entered the lounge. Miyuki and Izuku he expected to see, but definitely not his former colleague.

"Of course I do," Miyuki responded. "Sometimes, if we're free on Saturdays, Izuku and I listen together."

"Only if we're both free," Izuku sighed, and Miyuki patted his back which she was sure was sore from being hunched over marking his students' tests every night. "I'm afraid work's been piling up more than usual."
