"Chat, can you stay with me until I fall asleep?" Marinette asked shakily, hugging her pillow. A tear fell down her cheek.

Chat's eyes widened; he had never heard Marinette ask for such a thing. It made him feel better that she trusted him at least, plus he was grateful if the small act helped her.

He climbed down from the ladder and quietly sat in the swivel chair at her desk. "Of course, Princess."

Marinette sniffed sadly. Chat remembered Alya telling him at school that Marinette's grandmother had passed away; she was devastated. School hadn't been the same and Adrien didn't like it. Normally Marinette was happy and bubbly, now she was quiet and depressed.

Marinette weeped in her pillow. Chat frowned, his cat ears drooping. He hated seeing Marinette like this. If he could do anything to make her feel better, he would do it in an instant. But he couldn't think of anything. His Adrien side told him to leave her alone and her thoughts would sort themselves out, but his Chat side heavily disagreed.

"Hey, let's play some charades," Chat offered, standing up from the chair. "I'll start."

Chat began to run in place and pretended like he was wiping off sweat from his forehead. Marinette slowly turned around at the noise, her eyes red and puffy.

Chat kept running and stuck his tongue out like he was exhausted. A smile crept up on Marinette's face and finally she laughed.

"Is it a marathon runner?" Marinette asked, her voice shaky.

"Yep," Chat exclaimed with a smirk. "You are a purr-ofessional at this game!"

Marinette's smile fell and her eyes watered again. "M-my grandma loved charades... we called her a professional too..." she replied shakily. Her head fell back onto her pillow and she continued crying.

Chat frowned immensely, his heart aching with guilt. He slowly inched over to Marinette and reached a hand out to her. "H-Hey," he mumbled. "I'm sorry. Is there anything else I can do to help?"

Marinette reached up for Chat and wrapped her arms around him, weeping loudly. Chat could feel her sadness. He squeezed her tightly, hoping his simple hug would cure her of the pain she was feeling.

"I'm sorry Princess," he told her softly, a tear rolling down his cheek.
