She didn't know why she was going through with it.

Sure, Ladybug was partners and friends with Chat Noir, but did that really mean she had to go on a date with him?

Chat had convinced her to do it, stating that it would "strengthen their partnership." Marinette knew well that he just wanted the opportunity to say he went out on a date with her.

Still, Marinette would do it for her friend. After all, she had rejected his love enough times. The least she could do is go on a date with him. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad after all?

They both agreed to disguise themselves so they wouldn't find out each other's identity.

Marinette fetched out a pair of sunglasses and put them on, staring at herself in the mirror. Tikki floated nearby, visibly worried.

"Are you sure he won't figure it out?" Tikki asked nervously.

"Not if I'm disguised well enough," Marinette replied. She turned to the kwami and pointed at her glasses. "Do you think this is good so far?"

Tikki nodded slowly, her blue eyes shifting down Marinette. "But you'll definitely need a change of wardrobe."

"Already got that covered," Marinette laughed. She walked over to her bed where a flowy red dress was laying. She picked it up, holding it up against her body. "It's my mom's from when she was my age. It might be a little big in some places, but that's okay."

"I was about to say," Tikki smiled. "You never wear dresses."

Marinette unzipped the back of the dress. She slipped it on over a tank top and shorts. After it was on, her hands flew to the back of her dress at an attempt to zip it back up but she got halfway before she couldn't zip it anymore.

"Tikki, could you help me?" Marinette asked with a smile.

"Sure."

The kwami grabbed ahold of the zipper and with a little tug, it zipped all the way up.

"Thanks," Marinette said, looking at herself in the mirror. Her eyes then glanced to her pigtails. "Do you think I should let my hair down?"

"Do what you think is right," Tikki replied. "I don't think Chat Noir would be able to recognize you without the pigtails though."

Marinette and Tikki both laughed simultaneously at the fact at how clueless Chat Noir is when it came to Ladybug's identity. Marinette often laughed at the fact, but she couldn't help but wonder if she was just as clueless when it came to his identity.

"Oh! It's almost time!" Tikki said hurriedly, checking the clock. "You need to get going!"

"Right!" Marinette yelled, securing the sunglasses on her nose. She slipped on her flats before looking at herself in the mirror again. She decided to leave the pigtails; even if she wanted to take them down she wouldn't have enough time to deal with her hair.

Marinette snatched her phone off her bed before racing down the steps. She stopped in the living room where her parents were eating dinner.

"I'm going on my date now," Marinette announced, teetering anxiously on her feet.

"Have a good time, honey," Tom said. "Remember, you need to be home no later than 10 o'clock."
