Car accident

It was late, and I was bored so I picked up my phone and called Michael. "Hey, you wanna hang out?" "Yeah, I'm down." "Okay, I'll be there in 10 minutes." I hung up my phone and made my way to my car. When I got to his house, Michael was was already sitting on his porch waiting. "Where we going?" He hopped in the front seat. "I don't know, I though we could just drive for a bit, listen to some music." "Let me go grab my ipod real quick, then. I downloaded some sick new songs that I think you'll really like." He got back out and ran into his house. A few minutes later, he was back in the front seat. I sped off down the road as he plugged in his ipod. Scrolling through the songs he said, "Stop at this next corner store. I want a drink." I pulled over and he got out. "You want anything?" "No thanks," I smiled at him. He got back in and handed me an iced tea. "I got you one just in case you change your mind." He smiled at me and I placed it in the cup holder. He reached over and turned up the volume as loud as it could go. "Tell me if you like this one!" He shouted over the music. I divided my attention to listen to the song, but still keep my eyes on the road. As the song played, I bobbed my head a bit to the rhythm as he sang along. "I really like this!" I looked over at him and he grinned, giving me a thumbs up. After the song was over, he played one that I knew this time. "Oh my god! This is my favorite song!" I screamed, drumming my hands on the steering wheel. I belted out the lyrics as loud as I could and Michael did the same. Paying no attention to the road, I turned to look at Michael as I sang the words. "Y/N, look out!" he grabbed the wheel and we swerved off the road, hitting another car.
My eyes fluttered open and I groaned. My head was pounding. I looked around the room through blurry eyes. "Sweetheart, can you hear me?" I heard a voice that sounded like my moms. "Mom?" She let out a cry and hugged me tight. "Where am I?" I tried sitting up, but the room was spinning. She gently pushed me back down. "Don't move. You're in the hospital. You and Michael got into an accident." My eyes widened and I started to panic. "What? Where's Michael? Is he okay? Oh my gosh, Mom please don't tell me he's dead." i started to cry, but she calmed me down. "Shh, it's okay. He's fine. He just went to find a vending machine. He'll be back any minute." I let out a sigh or relief and rubbed my head. I winced when I felt the stitches under my fingers. "The doctor said not to touch the stitches, okay?" She took my hand away from my head and held it tight. "Y/N, I'm so glad you're okay. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't made it." I saw a tear fall from her eye and I grabbed her other hand. I looked over and saw Michael walk back in carrying a bag of chips. "Look who's awake." He smiled and sat down next to me. "How are you feeling?" He gently pushed a strand of hair away from my face. "My head really hurts." I rubbed it again. "Michael, how come you're fine? What happened?" He scooted closer and started to explain. "You weren't paying attention to the road. The van hit the drivers side and we spun out of control. You're really lucky that you lived." As he started to explain, I was starting to remember, and I didn't want to. I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to block it out. "Okay, I remember, please stop." He squeezed me shoulder and apologized. "It's okay, I asked." "I'm gonna let you guys talk." My stood up and gently kissed my forehead before she left the room. "Y/N, I'm so sorry this is all my fault. I shouldn't have had the music that loud or put it on at all." He shook his head and look of guilt came across his face. "Michael, it's not your fault. I was the driver. I should have been paying attention to the road, and I wasn't. Don't blame yourself for this." I grabbed his hands and held them tight. "I'm just glad you're okay." He kissed the back of my hand and smiled. "I am too."
