south's p.o.v

"what do you think astrid has been feeding stormfly that's making her faster?" hiccup rants to me after his conversation with astrid and fishlegs

"mayb-"

"i mean, she can't get faster then toothless right? i mean, toothless is a night fury! the fastest dragon! how can she-" i cut him off by quickly yanking him into me and kissing him swiftly on the lips. just as fast as i pull him in, i pull away. he looks dazed

"shut up" i whisper and push him back. he stumbles and laughs

"you can't keep doing that!" he protested. i hear fishlegs say 'aww' behind me and i shoot him one of my looks that says 'you dare' i turn back around and grin at hiccup

"of course i can!" i put my hands on my hips. he's about to say something else when snotlout comes flying in through the gate.

"guys, you will not believe what i just found!" he says excitedly. we all look at him. he gestures at us to foolow, so we do. we mount our dragons and follow him to the secluded beack, where a small fishing boat has been shipwrecked

"just so you know, i get to keep it" he boasts proudly. we rool our ours and peer underneath the boat. i gasp. a girl, about our age, i passed out in the sand, her black hair falling over her face. hiccup glances back at us and crawls forward, gently nudging her arm

"uh, hey..." the girl wakes up, and the moment she spots us, she shoots back against the wall of the boat

"hey, hey, it's okay. we won't hurt ya" hiccup says in his soothing tone. the girl asks for water, and immediately all the boys try to offer her theirs. i roll my eyes and kick them out of the way, before handing her my canister. she smiles gently at me. i offer her my hand and help her out of the boat. snotlout starts going off and her, before i push him out of the way, letting me and hiccup talk.

"my names hiccup. this is my girlfriend south" we shake her hand

"heather. i have to say... you guys are really cute together" she says in a raspy voice. me and hiccup look at each other, before smiling.

"thanks! thats astrid, snotlout, fishlegs, ruffnut and tuffnut" hiccup points them all out in turn. snotlout winks at her, and she tries to hide her shudder. i gently place my hand on her shoulder and whisper

"don't worry about him. he's been doing that to me and astrid for years, despite knowing i'm with hiccup. though i think he's scared of hiccup" she giggles and nods.

"you can ride with me." hiccup held out is hand to her. i've been with hiccup since before toothless, so i trust him. doesn't stop the slight pang of jealousy that runs through me at the sight of her wrapping her arms around his waist. we had back to the village. hiccup spoke to his father and agreed that she shoukd stay with me, as i live alone.  i'm currently downstarirs making food with hiccup. well, i'm making food and he's sat at the table, catting with me

"so what do you think of heather?" he asks. i think for a moment

"she seems super nice. really sweet." i think some more, then realize something

"helheim, thats the exact same way we met!" i burst out laughing. hiccup does to when he realises.

"oh yeah!" our laughs die down

"well, as long as you two don't hit it off the way we did" i slide his plate in front of him. my famous bread dumplings and stew.

"course not. i'm with you. have been for over a year." he says, covering his mouth so food doesn't spray everywhere
