192- breathe pt 2

This is a year after south found hiccup. They are on dragons edge, as they went back to berk a week after the chapter ended.

Hiccup is 18

Hiccup's p.o.v

Things are much different now, here on the egde. I can mostly understand and speak Norse again, but I still get it wrong sometimes. South has stayed with me the whole time as I went back to berk and spoke to my father.

Flashback

I knock on my dads door, and it opens
"What can I do- hiccup." He growls.
"Yes."
"What are you doing back here?" He grabs his axe. I just watch as he walks towards me.
"South. Toothless, good. Berk, miss berk, home" I try to get my point across. He slams his axe on the table only inches from me. I do not flinch.
"SPEAK, damnit"
"Forgot. No speak. Speak dragon, no human speak"
"What?"
"Raids. No raids, yes?" I say, looking up at him. He's instantly confused
"We haven't had raids since you left"
"Yes. Queen, nest. Dragons. Kill. I kill"
"You... killed the queen?"
"Yes"
"And stopped the raids"
"Yes"
"I... I misjudged you, hiccup. I'm sorry" I smile at him
"Sorry"
"You don't need to be. Will you... will you come home?"
"Yes."

Flashback over

"Hey hiccup" I hear south say from behind me. I turn around and face her
"Afternoon, m'lady" she sits herself in my lap and gently kisses me. Even after a year, it still sends a thrill through my chest.
"Are you coming to train?"
"Yes. I'll coming" she smiles lightly
"It's either 'I'll come, or I'm coming', love" I nod.
"Yes. I'll remember"
"Don't worry about it. You'll get there" I peck her lips one more time before leaving the hut. We walk down to the dome, where we find all the others. Snotlout is eyeing me in a way that I don't like
"Snotlout, problem?" I look over at him
"I just think it's funny how you disappear for two years then you come back randomly, not being able to speak Norse yet you can speak dragon?" I hear toothless behind me
''I could end this right now' he suggests.
'No, toothless. We're the bigger people here. Well, person and dragon' this makes him chortle
"See what I mean? How do we know that he isn't dangerous?"
"I am. I am very dangerous." I cross my arms and regard him.
"See?"
"But not to you. I am strong, and fast. I hear, and see, and smell better than you. I not use these against you, or anyone here" South squeezes my hand. I turn to begin training
"Ha! He's a coward!" Snotlout taunts. I freeze, remembering years of bullying and being called useless, a coward, weak. I slowly turn
"What you say?" I ask in a low voice.
"Hiccup..." south starts, but I hold my hand up.
"No. What you say, Snotlout?" His expression wavers for a moment
"I said you're a coward! You're weak, and useless"
"Everyone, Leave." They do, running to watch from the side. Even south goes, knowing that this isn't her fight.
"You guys no believe me. I can prove myself. Right now" I square my shoulders and plant my feet, analysing him. He runs straight at me,so I just dodge out of the way
"You think I'm weak?" He comes at me again, his arms out. I jump up and push off against his outstretched arm, boosting myself higher. In the air, I do a flip, landing with my knees bent, one hand in the floor. Snotlout gets up and tries to punch me. I catch his hand and at a speed no other human could reach, I have him pinned in the floor.
"You think you can beat me in a fight?" I let him go, standing up and grabbing his tunic. I pick him up with only my right hand, which is my non dominant one and throw him clear across the dome. He hits the other wall.
"Astrid can do that" he groans as he gets up
"I know, can Astrid do this?" I swing out and catch him across the face when he approaches me. I only use a small bit of my real strength, yet it sends him flying again.
"Anyone else want to try?" I look up. Astrid jumps down with her axe
"C'mon then" she taunts. I just smile and stand still with my hands clasped behind my back. Snotlout Awakes and stands next to her.
"Two on one? Perfect" I smile malevolently. They both run at me. Astrid has her axe lifted over her head, so I just grab it as she swings down
"Huh?" Me grabbing the axe was enough distraction to yank it out of her hands. I throw it across the dome. They both try to come at me, but I grab astrids arm and pull her up, using her momentum against her as I send her clear across the dome, and she hits Snotlout, sending them both down to the ground.
"Done?"
"How the hell..." Snotlout whispers.
"I told you. Dangerous. But only if you threaten me. Am I still coward, Snotlout?" He rapidly shakes his head, running off. Astrid joins him in going to nurse her wounded ego. I just brush the dirt off my clothes.
"Normally, I would not endorse this sort of violence, but it was good that you did that. Snotlout needed putting in his place" i tuck a bit of hair behind her ear
"You know I would never hurt you, correct?" She nods
"Yeah, I know. Don't worry" I lean down and press my lips against hers. She responds just as I knew she would, and as she always does. Her arms come up to wrap around my neck, keeping me in position. I dedicate a small but of attention to making sure I don't accidentally hurt her as I wrap my arms right around her waist, licking her body against mine. The kiss makes my head spin, and my breathing is heavy when she pulls away.
"I love you, hiccup"
"I love you too, South"
