so in the spirit of halloween, this is here... yay? trigger warning, hiccup has manic bipolar and depression, as well as self harming. south has been self harming as well. if those things trigger you, please do not read. i won't cry over it, seriously. don't upset yourself. i only post these to bring awareness to the subjects, not to mock them.

hiccup is 17, south is 16.

south's p.o.v

i pick up my phone from my nightstand. it's two days before our annual halloween sleepover, and i'm mega exited. i text the groupchat. (sh- south, nh- north, s- snotlout, h- heather, f- fishlegs, a- astrid, t- tuffnut, r- ruffnut)

sh- hey, has everyone got the O.K to come?

nh- yeah, we need to know who is and is not coming so we know what snacks to buy

t- me and ruff are coming.

r- yep!

f- my mom says it's okay as long as your mom will be in the house

sh- of course she will be. she'll be upstairs in her room. we'll be sleeping in the living room

h- my dad says it's okay.

a- my mom and dad want me to go because they're going to a halloween party

sh- great. snotlout?

s- idk, my dad said i can only go if my brother comes

nh- you have a brother?!?!?!

s- well, not really. he's not actually my brother, he's my cousin, but he's my adoptive brother. my parents adopted him about a year ago and i was told not to tell anyone. my parents are going out and he can't be left home alone

sh- my mom wants to know how old he is, so she knows if he should stay upstairs with her to give us teenager time without younger siblings

s- he's 17

f- why can't he be home alone then? you're allowed to be home alone, so why isn't he?

s- because he'll kill himself

h- WHAT?????

s- yeah. he has manic bipolar and depression. he's a cool guy, but his passed is so utterly fucked up that he's got all sorts of issues. he has tried to commit suicide about 14 times, in many different ways. i can only tell you this, not any more. he'll tell you if he wants, but he might not. please don't ask him a ton of questions or treat him different, he's already really self- concious
