84- kiddo pt 2

so this is just gonna be a fluff chapter of hiccup and south spending a weekend together.

hiccup is 17, south is 21

it's saturday morning. my eyes slowly flutter open at the light shining staright at them, so i shift and roll over away from the brightness. hiccup let's out a sound that sounds like 'mmf' and snuggles into me, his head literally burying into my breasts. not in a weird way. he loves laying on them (he's not creepy) because he says that they're soft and comfy. i smile and close my eyes again, caressing the back of his head. toothless let's out a meow from the end of the bed as he walks over, laying next to hiccup who lifts a sleepy arm to pet him. i think back to the doctors appointment that diagnosed him

flashback

me and hiccup are sat in the doctors office. he's 16 now, and as i was getting to know him more and he opened up to me, i started to notice things that weren't normal, such as the nightmares, the crying, the bedwetting or accidents in public, and things like that, so i've taken him to the doctor

"okay, so who is this appointment for?" the doctor asks.

"oh, it's for my brother" i say. hiccup looks down and swings his legs, listening.

"what can i do for you?" he looks to hiccup, who stays silent, staring intently at his swinging legs.

"um, as he was growing up, he goe severe neglect from his father, so i took him in. i'm not his biological sister. when he began living with me, i noticed some things. every night he has nightmares and comes into my room, crying, saying that the monsters are gonna get him and eat him, and theres also the bed wetting, the tantrums, and the childish behaviour. he acts completly normal in school, but as soon as he gets home with me, it starts up. it's not like he mis behaves or like, breaks things, he just acts odd. i have nothing against it, and he causes no problems, i was just wondering if there was a reason why" the doctor nods and writes it all down.

"okay, hiccup? do you think you could fill something out for me?" hiccup looks up, nods, then tilts his head. i smile at him and squeeze his shoulder. the doctor gets something out of a drawer and hands it to him. i look at it, and see it's a questionnair. he fills it out, often pausing and looking around the room, or at me. then, he hands it back. the doctor looks through it, then leaves the room.

"you okay?" i ask him. he shrugs.

"i don't know why i'm here" he says simply, i smile and place my hand on his cheek. he lets out an almost purr like hum and smiles, closing his eyes. the doctor walks back in with a woman. the woman drags a chair in front of hiccup as i pull my hand away and he opens his eyes.

"hello. my name is yvonne. what's yours?" he slides a little closer to me.

"hiccup" he murmurs quietly. he doesn't like new people.

"so hiccup. tell me. do you like english or math?" she asks more questions like this, on his preferences, his pets, all sorts. then, the woman takes him out of the room, and i'm left with the doctor.

"can you tell me more about what his home was like?"

"of course. i met him when he was 13. he was stood out in the rai because his dad had forgotten to pick him up, so i took him back with me and fed him, gave him a change of clothes and a warm place to stay for the night. after that, i found out that his father never fed him, so i would bring him food every day, and that his dad would beat on him sometimes. his mother was kidnapped when he was a baby, and that kinda ruined his dad. the day i turned 18, i asked him to move in with me. he said he would love to, so while his dad was at work, i went to his house to get his things. his dad came home and i rowed with him. i admit i didn't handle it well, as i started accusing his father of being a shoddy parent, and his dad said 'see how long you last with him. you'll be begging me to take him back when you see what he's really like'. when he came home with me, that's when all of this started. the bed wetting, the tantrums, all that" the doctor nods. then, hiccup and yvonne come back. hiccup's grinning.
