so some minor context- hiccup has a mild form of autism that makes him act childishly. hiccup's autism prevents him from being able to take care of himself, so stoick lived with him. when hiccup was 20, stoick had a stroke and knew he was dying, so he hired south to take care of hiccup. south fell in love with him and he liked her too, so they got together and got married a year later.

hiccup and south are 23

south's p.o.v

"hiccup, love, i'm going to the shops. i trust you won't burn the house down while i'm gone?" i walk into the bedroom. he's laying on his front, reading a comic called 'dragonvine'

"i won't!" he says cheerfully. i lean down to kiss him, and he responds as enthusiastic as ever. he's smiling wide when i pull away

"I'll be home soon. i love you" i say to him.

"i love you tooooo" he drawls. i grin and kiss the top of his head before walking out. the shops is a ten minute walk away, so i just walk. i soon get there and grab a basket. i see a woman there, with the wildest hed of ginger hair i have ever seen in my life. i just shake my head and continue my shopping. after about 30 minutes, i'm stood in an aisle when suddenly, the woman with the wild ginger hair comes bouncing up.

"hey girl! oh my god, i haven't seen you in ages!" she cheers, hugging me.

"uh... do i know you?"

"duh, we went to school together?" i know for a fact we didn't. i was homeschooled. was she in my med school class? she then leans in to hug me again.

"there is a man. he's been following you for about 25 minutes. i saw you were almost done shopping" she whispers. i chuckle.

"oh dear. it's okay." i then turn around and sure enough, hiccup quickly dives behind the corner from where he had been watching me.

"dont look!" she hisses. i laugh.

"it's fine, girl. hiccup! i know you're there!" i yell. he comes around the corner and runs up to me.

"i lasted 25 minutes this time!" he says exitedly. i chuckle.

"you sure did." he gives me a massive grin.

"wait... am i missing something?" i laugh.

"i'll explain in a sec. here you go, hicc" i grab my purse and hand him his money. we have a little deal that for every ten minutes he follows me around without my knowledge, he gets £10. he pecks my lips and runs off.

"so... what on earth is going on here?" the woman asks, bewildered. i chuckle softly.

"that's hiccup. he's my husband. he has a form of autism. he can't look after himself, so his father hired me to look after him because his father was dying. we fell in love and got married. he likes to follow me around stores and whatnot. he's not doing it in a creepy way, he just likes to see how long he can last without me seeing him. he's gotten pretty good at it, actually. for every 10 minutes he lasts, he get's £10 which he always spends on some sort of dragon paraphanelia" i explain to her.

"oh... that's actually adorable. anyway, my name is bluejay" she offers me her hand, and i shake it.

"i'm south. thanks for defending me, even though you don't know me" she gives me a grin.

"it's girl code!" i laugh.

"yeah, i suppose it is. what's your number?" i pull out my phone as i ask. she rattles it off while i enter it, shooting her a text. sure enough, her back pocket pings.

"we will have to make arrangements to hang out" i smile. she nods.

"totally! i'll see you soon" i walk away from her and soon enough find hiccup stood by the checkouts holding a small dragon plushie. i walk up to him.

"have you already bought it?" i nod towards the little dragon in his hands. he nods.

"okay. i'll be done in a sec" he nods and kisses my cheek. i swiftly pay for my items and we begin heading home.
