197- gone gustav gone

Hiccup and south are 19 (yes I am fully aware that they wouldn't have been 19 during this episode) Ryden is 4, south is 4 months pregnant. (She's not really showing yet)

Hiccup's p.o.v

"Hiccup!" Astrid bursts through my hut door. I turn around sharply
"Heh, Astrid class!" I joke as the dragon eye in my hand points directly at her
"Hiccup, we have a problem!" She says. I frown and put the dragon eye down.
"Dagur?"
"Worse" she sighs.
"What could be worse than Dagur?" I get my answer wen Astrid is knocked to the ground My a purple monstrous nightmare
"Ah-Gustav!"
"Gustav?"
"Gustav" Astrid deadpans
"Gustav, What are you doing here?" I ask the boy, backing up. He dismounts fanghook and walks towards me.
"I mean, to what do we owe the pleasure of this visit?" I attempt to keep him subdued. The others run in
"Hiccup, did you hear Gustav is... standing right beside you. Perfect" Snotlout says in a strained voice. I turn around to sort something out, when Gustav suddenly hits the chest behind me.
"Ow! Hey, what's that thing?" He asks. I turn, and see he has picked up the dragon eye. He looks into it and instantly falls back, obviously being temporarily blinded by the light. I'm slightly nervous because Gustav doesn't know about south or Ryden, and I have been hoping to keep it that way. Ryden is sleeping upstairs, while south is in the clubhouse.
Gustav waves his hands around and hits the wall, knocking one of toothless' tails down. Toothless growls at him. He knocks the wall again and all the tails come down.
"Gustav, Gustav, over here" Snotlout calls. Gustav walks into him.
"When are you leaving?"
"That's funny, Snotlout, but I'm not leaving. I'm moving here" everyone gasps, and tuffnut starts laughing.
"Yeah, Yeah you are" He hits ruffnur as if someone had told a funny joke. I run my fingers through my hair
"Quieten down" I hiss. The others look at me, and I subtly point upstairs.
"What, he's serious? I'll get the stake and firewood" tuffnut groans, and he and ruff turn to leave the hut"
"Oh, hold on, hold on. No one is burning anyone at the stake" I sigh.
"Hiccup's right, lets just throw him off the cliff!" Ruffnut says enthusiastically.
"Guys, I'm sure there's a simple explanation." It hen turn around to Gustav
"Please tell me there's a simple explanation, Gustav" I say to him. He rubs his eyes
"Yeah, very simple. By the way, do not look right into that sun sword thing. Anyway, you said when I was ready, I could join the dragon riders. Well, I'm ready and I'm here to join. Where my hut?" My eyes widen, before I nod slowly
"Right Okay, Uh... go find south. She'll give you something to do" Gustav frowns
"South? Who the hell is south" I sigh.
"Right, Yeah. Just... go to the clubhouse. You'll find her there. Astrid, take him up" she nods and yanks Gustav out of the room.

Gustav's p.o.v

Astrid leads me up to a large building higher than the others.
"South!" She calls in. A woman sat at the table looks up. Oh. My. Gods. She is gorgeous, with long brown hair, bright grey eyes and a smattering of freckles
"Hello, Astrid She says, setting down some knitting needles and yarn. Astrid pushes me towards her. I stride up to her with a smirk
"Hey, babe. Hiccup sent me here. He knew you'd be good for me" I flirt. She frowns
"I... Astrid, who is this?"
"Gustav Larson." She says before walking away.
"Hello, Gustav. I'm south. South haddock" she holds her hand out to me
"Woah, hiccup has a sister? I never knew that" I raise my eyebrows suggestively.
"Um... I assume hiccup sent you to me to... keep you occupied?"
"Yep" I pop the p. She nods, brown hair falling over her shoulders.
"Alright. Come on then." She presses a hand to the table and stands. She leads me out.
"Now, I need herbs."
"What herbs do you need, babe?" I ask. Her smile falters a little.
"Anything that isn't poisonous, Gustav. I need cooking herbs, healing herbs, the lot. Do you think you can do that for me?"
"Hell Yeah, babe" I wink and run off with the basket she gives me. It takes me about an hour to fill it, before I head back to the clubhouse. I find her there, with a much larger basket filled to the brim with different herbs.
"Perfect! Thank you, Gustav" she takes the basket and kisses my cheek. I stumble back.
"Woooah"
"Now, if you want to help me sort them, feel free. If not, head on up to hiccup's hut." I nod.
"Seeya, babe" she nods and turns back to what she was doing. I walk up to hiccup's hut.
"Hello, hiccup?" I ask. There is no reply. I laugh and jump up onto his table. I accidentally hit into one of toothless' tails, and I back up, falling down over the chest. It swings open.
"Huh. What do we have here?" I dig through it. There's some notebooks, leg replacements, tools and... is that a stuffed toy?" I pull it out and see that there are more. I see a baby bottle and pull it out.
"The hell does he want with this?" I ask myself.
"Hello?" I hear a small voice say from somewhere behind me.
"Ah!" I yell and fall back. I turn around. On the stairs is a young boy, maybe about 4. He's holding a stuffed dragon, and he's wearing what looks to be pyjamas.
"Who are you?" I ask. He looks at the chest and then back at me
"You wanna play?"
"Uh, no" I say in a duh tone. He points at the toy in my hand, so I throw it to the ground.
"I said, who are you?" I yell at this kid. He flinches
"R-Ryden" He whispers.
"Why are you here?"
"My daddy will be back soon." He says.
"Oh my gods..." I grumble. Hiccup walks in.
"Gustav?" He then turns his eyes to the weird kid
"Awe, Ryden. What's up, bud?" He asks, walking over to hums I notice the kid has started crying.
"He... he's not being very nice..." I roll my eyes. Hiccup sighs.
"Not my fault there's some strange kid in here!" I grumble.
"Gustav, Ryden isn't some strange kid. He's my son. I've already been told your attitude towards my wife." He crosses his arms.
"That hot chick is your wife?" I gape. The kid grabs hiccup's arm, making him pick him up.
"Look, Gustav. The rules are not the same out here. If you do not treat your peers correctly, people won't trust you. Got it?"
"Whatever" I roll my eyes and walk out.

Hiccup's p.o.v

"Sorry, buddy" I murmur to Ryden after Gustav is gone.
"He's... he's not very nice" he sniffs, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"I know, buddy. Wanna go find mommy?" He nods, burying his head in my neck. I walk up to the clubhouse and find south. She's resumed her knitting, and Gustav is sat there, talking to her. She seems a little tense
"Hey guys. South, I trust Gustav is being nice to you?" I ask with an edge to my voice. She smiles up at me
"He's alright. We're just talking about my knitting" I nod.
"Mommy" Ryden cheers. South grins
"Hey baby! How was your nap?"
"Good! I dreamt I was flying!" He hops down from my arms and runs around the room, arms outstretched. Toothless watches him and laughs draconically. I smirk and start chasing after him.
"Raaaaaah! I'm a dragon and I'm gonna eat ya!" I yell after him. He squeals in laughter. I grab him and Haul him up so im carrying him bridal style, and I pretend to start biting his neck.
"No, no, no, tickles!" He yells out in laughter. I laugh a little myself and set him down
"Go on, then" I kiss his head, and he runs off to play with toothless. South has been watching with a small smile. I sit down next to her as she picks up her knitting again.
"I love you" I murmur to her
"I love you too" she whispers back.
