Arlo's p.o.v

"Mom? Dad?" I call as I walk into the living room. I see them there. They turn to look at me
"What's up, bud?" My dad asks
"C-can I talk to you about something?" They move from the floor where they were picking up some toys to the couch.
"Of course, take a seat" my mom gestures to the seat in front of them. I do.
"I Uh... I was wondering if... I could take my
Girlfriend here to meet you?" I ask sheepishly. Their eyes light up
"Oh, baby, of course! What's her name?" My mom says excitedly. I laugh a little
"Her names Riley." My mom squeals
"Awe, babe, look at his blush!" She laughs and pulls me against her with astonishing strength for the little woman that she is.
"You're growing up too fast" she says into my hair. I hug her back
"Sorry, kinda can't help it" my dad chuckles and lays my back
"Good for you son, just... make sure you don't end up like me and your mother, okay? Having kids is great n all, but it's not exactly easy" I nod.
"I won't. I've never even kissed her. I'm way too shy" he kisses the top of my head, then pokes my mom
"C'mon, love, let the poor boy go" my mom makes a hissing sound at him, but let's me go with one last kiss against my forehead. I smile at them then go to my room to call Riley
"Hey Riley" I say when she picks up the phone
"Hey Arlo, what's up?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to come meet my parents" she stays silent for a moment
"You like me that much?" I laugh and lay back on my bed.
"Is that a bad thing, cos I could totally say no"
"No, I never said that. I'd love to meet them. I'm only free tomorrow, is that okay?"
"Great. There's some things you gotta know" I tell her
"Okay, What is it?"
"My house is absolute chaos"
"I doubt it's any worse than mine, I have loads of siblings" she says. I laugh
"Oh? How many siblings do you have?"
"Three. I have two brothers and a sister"
"Thats quite a few siblings for the average person. I have 7 siblings and I have doubts that my mom will be pregnant again by the end of the year." She gasps
"Eight kids? My lord" I burst out laughing
"I know!"
"Your parents gotta be pretty old then?" I scoff
"Hardly. They're 28"
"But that makes them thirteen years older than us. I think they lied to you" I chuckle
"No, it's the truth. I was conceived when they were 12. Remember when we did kids having kids last year?"
"Yeah, good day it was"
"Yeah. That's when I found out. I always thought they looked young, but I didn't think they could be that young. They are the best parents I could have ever asked for."
"They sound amazing. I can't wait to meet them"
"I can't wait either"

The next day

"Mom, dad, we're here!" I call out. Riley is looking around
"You have a massive house" she says, awed. I chuckle a little.
"Yeah, it has to be big. Me and my siblings have a room to ourselves
"In the living room, buddy!" I hear my dad call from the back of the house. I lead her there. All of the kids are in the living room, engrossed in some show.
"That's a lot of children" Riley says
"Did tell you." My mom and dad walk up from where they were on the sofa.
"Riley, this is my mom and dad. Mom, dad, this is my girlfriend, Riley" Riley holds her hand out, but my mom pulls her in for a hug.
"N-nice to meet you, mr and mrs haddock"
"Oh, it's just hiccup and south, lass. Any friend of our Son is family" my dad hugs her as well.
"Are you staying over for the night?" My mom asks her
"If it's okay?"
"That's fine. We'll bring up the air mattress in a bit" my parent kiss my head before going back to what they were doing. Me and Riley head up to my room.
"You were right, your parents are amazing"
"I know. I'm really lucky. What do you wanna do?"
"What can we do?"
"We could go out, go to the shop, stay here and watch the tv, play with the kids, play on my PS4 or Xbox 1"
"You have both?"
"Contrary to what you would believe, my parents are really rich. My dads an engineer at a really high paying company, and my mother is an Neurosurgeon so on her own she makes about 700,000 a year. I have no clue how much my dad makes, but I think it rounds it up to about a million a year" I shrug
"That's insane."
"I know. I don't like to brag about it, because I get worried that people might only be my friend because of what they can get out of me"
"I understand that. I mean, my mom can only just keep us afloat. I don't talk about it because the one thing I hate most is pity"
"I get that." I smile at her.
"So, we've got plenty of stuff to do, what shall we do?"
"Maybe we could... go to the store and get some snacks then play video games
"That's sounds great m'lady" I go under my bed and grab my money box that holds my allowance. There's about 700$ that I've saved in there. I take out 50 and put it in my pocket. We head to the living
"Everyone's got a pound each. Tell me what you want" I call in. The kids excitedly shout the sweets they want
"Dangit arlo, you're too soft" my dad laughs at me. I shrug.
"I'm the oldest brother. I like spoiling them"
"We know" I get hugs from the kids and then me and Riley leave. We walk together to the shops, holding hands.
"You're really good with them" she says. I grin
"Thanks. Most people get pissed with their little siblings, but I don't. I love them all to bits. I always spoil them. My parents pretend it annoys them, but I don't really think it does"
"Haha, I wish I could do that for mine"
"I'm sure one day you'll be able to"
"Maybe" we arrive at the shops. The first thing I do is pick up what the kids wanted, then we get our own snack and drinks
"I can't let you pay for all of it" she says. I chuckle
"It's nothing, trust me"
"At least let me pay for the drinks?"
"Oh, Alright" I kiss her cheek, making her blush. We get our stuff and head home. I give the kids what they wanted and get more hugs, before we head to the kitchen.
"Can you get our some mixing bowls?" I ask. She looks around
"Uh, you're gonna have to tell me where they are" I laugh
"Oh, right. They're in there" I point to a cupboard. She gets them out and I get out a few jugs. We put the snacks and drinks into bowls and jugs before going upstairs. We play video games for hours, only coming down for dinner. At dinner, everyone gets to know Riley. Everyone really likes her.

That night,

Riley's p.o.v

I wake up on arlos bed. His bedside clock says it's 2 in the morning. My throat is burning dry, so I look around. There's no more soda left. I grab the cup and decide to risk going to the kitchen for some water. I head down and almost get lost in this big house, but I make it. I fill the cup and just as I'm turning to go back upstairs, I hear laughter from the living room. I walk silently to the door and peer through the open crack. I see his parents there. They're say on the sofa. His mom is reading a book, and his dad is watching her. They are talking, though I can't hear what they're saying. I shouldn't be watching them. Just before I leave, his mom looks up and sees me.
"Oh, Riley! Are you alright, dear?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude... I was just really thirsty"
"It's alright. Come in and sit down" his dad says, gesturing to the loveseat. I make my way in and sit down. They offer me a pretzel from the snack box they were eating from, and I gratefully take in, taking a little bite out of it.
"How did you and arlo meet?" His mom asks me curiously. I smile a little
"We have all the same lessons at school. We became friends after we realised"
"Ah. How long have you been going out?"
"About a month. He's really sweet. He often brings me a little bag of sweets. It's like he knows when I'm having a bad day, and he always knows how to make is better" I blush and look away
"That's so sweet. Our sons just like you, hiccup"
"I'd like to think so." I giggle a little
"I have to say. Our son is really lucky to have a girl like you. You're pretty, and kind" I smile
"He's even luckier to have parents like you. He always talks about you, and how lucky he is. He really loves you a lot" they both smile
"Awe, Thank you, honey" his mom reaches over and strokes my cheek.
"He told me that... that you had him when you were thirteen. I was wondering if it was true?" They glance at each other
"Yes, it's true. We don't regret it, but it was a really stupid thing to do"
"I'm not judging you. It was really brave to keep him. Most people would have aborted, or adopted, but you didn't. That's a really, really brave thing to do"
"I'm glad you think so." I spend another hour talking to his parents. I learn quite a bit about them, like how souths parents kicked her out when she got pregnant, and I think they learn a lot about me. I'm really comfortable around them now. I share the problems I have with my family with them, and they tell me that I am welcome here any time if I want to get away from it. They're definitely some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. They are some of the few that don't treat the kids any less because they're younger. The speak to me as if I was their age, and that in itself is refreshing. Eventually, i get really tired so I tell them I'm gonna head back upstairs. They nod and say they should go to bed too. I get back to arlos room and find he's still asleep, so I crawl into his bed and swiftly fall back to sleep.
