you try to sneak in a kitten

You couldn't help but smile to yourself when you walked inside and the first thing that you heard was Lisa humming along to some song she's had stuck in her head the last day or two. She was washing her dirty plate in the sink but when she heard the door close behind you she was turning the water off and sending you that beautiful smile of hers.

You smiled back at her just as happily. You hugged your sweater tighter around yourself and looked toward the staircase. For some reason, it felt like it was further away than usual.

"I missed you today!" She giggled and tried to hug you when you were close enough but you pulled back before she could. "What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.

You looked down at your chest. Inside the sweater you had thrown on before you arrived home, the little kitten that you had snuggled up to your chest was beginning to move around. Curious about the new atmosphere and eager to explore.

"Nothing." You said quickly. You hoped she'd believe you and you could sneak the kitten upstairs, but there was a sudden sound that took you both by surprise; a little meow that sounded from inside your sweater.

"What was what?" She asked curiously as she looked around.

"Nothing," you tried to say, but another little meow was heard, and this time it was obvious it came from inside your sweater.

"Y/N-"

The little kitten poked its head through your sweater. A few more meows resounded through the room and Lisa couldn't help but giggle and fall in love with the furry animal. "So precious!" She cooed as she carefully pulled the kitten from your sweater and into her arms. She couldn't help but notice how tiny it was.

"Y/N? Where did you find them?"

You started to pet the kitten. The way it began to purr upon feeling your touch made your heart swell. "I found it on my way home. I thought maybe it belonged to someone at first, but there was no one around. No one was looking for it, no one was calling for it. Plus, it's really tiny." You looked at the tiny animal in your girlfriend's arms. "Lisa, can we keep her please? I think she might've been abandoned. She needs a home and a good one at that!"

Lisa looked between you and the kitten in her arms. It really was so loveable! Rubbing against her and purring as her fingers combed through it's fluffy fur. It was adorable! Staring at her with beautiful blue eyes. She couldn't get over how precious it was.

And, looking back at you, she knew you weren't gonna take no for an answer. You're always so persistant and the little kitten desvered a good home surrounded with lots of love and a place to run and play.

"Okay. We'll keep him."

Her heart felt so full as you threw your arms around her. Squealing excitedly as you pet the adorable animal again. "Hear that? You've got a good forever home now." You smiled happily, loving the little animal already.

Dropping your cheek to her shoulder, you were already staring at her when Lisa gazed at you. "Thank you."

"You're weclome. We make a good team, baby. We'll take great care of her, together."
