Little Jungkook's ear was reddened from being twisted. Lisa checked on it. Lucky there was no tears.
Her heart ached and she talked softly next to little Jungkook's ear. "Kookie, you need to tell the adults that the old witch hit you. You can just let the bad people bully you."
The maid took advantage of the fact that little Jungkook didn't like to talk and wouldn't hurt even when hit, nor would he cry. Which was why she felt that she could do whatever she pleased.
Lisa taught him. "You need to learn to tell on them!"
Little Jungkook's little face was long. He did not respond to her. His ear itched from being blown on and he cocked his little head.
There was nothing that Lisa could do right now. She could only stare as hard as she could at the woman who was happily enjoying the dessert.
The woman walked over again after she was done eating.
Now that she had dessert, the woman was in a much better mood. She could tell the difference but she knew that what she had just eaten was bird nest soup. The was smooth and sweet in her mouth; precious items that she could never afford on her own.
She examined where she had struck little Jungkook and made sure that it was only reddened with no markings before she left with the empty bowl, feeling relieved.
Lisa let out a sigh of relief after the door was closed. She was truly worried that the maid would strike Jungkook again.
She turned around and saw little Jungkook sitting on his little chair, staring into the air. There was no expression on the milky bun's little face.
His world was a quiet one.
Lisa tried to pry open his little hard shelf and force her way in. "How about big sister work on the jigsaw puzzle with you?"
Little Jungkook looked at the puzzle on the floor and said softly, "Fell."
Lisa couldn't pick the puzzles up so all she could do was to woo him. "You pick them up and then I will play with you."
Little Jungkook blinked his big eyes blankly and then bent over docilely and started picking up the puzzles from the floor.
His hands were small and there were even little dimples on the back of his hands. They were so cute that she wishes she could poke at them.
Lisa, too, squatted down to keep him company.
By the time he had all the puzzles picked up, she sat down next to him and said, "Big sister is really good at this. I can teach Kookie." She started guiding him. "You put this one here."
Little Jungkook did not listen to her.
"Kookie, put this one there.
"Aiya, big sister was wrong. This one should go on the left.
"Why do these two pieces look identical?"
Little Jungkook tightened his lips and, after a while, said in his milky voice. "Stupid, you."
Lisa, "......"
Did he just call her stupid?
The adult him said she was ugly and the young him called her stupid? How could he!
She couldn't help but reached her hand out to pinch his soft little cheek. She rubbed and kneaded his cheeks and she must admit that his cheeks felt nice. "Hurry up and said big sister is smart and pretty.
Little Jungkook's face was trapped by Lisa's hands and, pouting his little mouth, his looked at her quietly with his pair of big, black eyes.
Oh. Lisa felt that her little heart was about to be melted by his cuteness.
"Strange...... big sister." The little kid's mouth being pressed by Lisa's hands, his milky voice was mumbled and appeared even more milky.
Lisa didn't hear hi clearly. Letting go of his cheeks, she asked, "What was it again?"
"Strange big sister." Little Jungkook lowered his head, ignored Lisa, and carried on with his puzzle.
Lisa was stumped. Why did he call her strange? She was so pretty right now. Anyway he looked at her, she should be the big angelic sister.
This little kid never knew what pretty was since he was a child!
