Lisa, received a message from Jungkook for a change when school was out.
Lisa had downloaded the chat software for Jungkook in the past, added him as a friend, and updated her alias on it. She didn't think it would come into use at all but Jungkook messaged her today.
Kookie The Precious Treasure: When are you returning?
Lili: Does Kookie miss me already?
Kookie The Precious Treasure: When are you returning?
Lili: You haven't answered my question yet. You answer my question first, then I will answer yours.
Lisa saw the duplicated message and wanted to bust out laughing. She could already visualize Jungkook sitting there with his back straight, expressionless, with the cellphone in his hand, entering each character carefully.
She couldn't help but want to tease him.
Kookie The Precious Treasure: I get out at 5 o'clock.
Jungkook was reminding Lisa that it was already 5 o'clock and she was already out of school. The subtext was that she should be heading home.
Jungkook now cared about what time she got out of school?
Lili: I'm on my way, on my way. What made you want to message me today?
A few minutes later, she heard nothing back.
Lili: You didn't reply back to me?
Lili: Where are you?
Lili: Have you fallen into the toilet?
Kookie The Precious Treasure: No, I didn't.
When she saw Jungkook's response, Lisa could see how Jungkook was telling her seriously that he did not fall into the bathroom.
She was about to pass out from laughing so hard. How was this man so cute?
The Lu's chauffeur had already arrived at the front of the school. Lisa got into the car and continued to text Jungkook happily.
Lili: Next time you don't respond to me, I am just going to assume that you had fallen into the toilet.
Lili: What are you doing?
Lili: Are you still inside the study?
Kookie The Precious Treasure: Mmm.
And that was how Lisa continued to tease Jungkook.
Lili: Send over a few little sun emojis.
Lili: Do you know how to do that?
Lili: Look for the sun emoji on the bottom of the chat window.
Kookie The Precious Treasure: Childish you.
Even through the screen, Lisa could feel how cute Jungkook was. Wuu, how she wanted to rush home and pinch his cheeks.
Suddenly, a call came in.
Lisa looked at the original owner's memo: Little Aunty. She knew this was Mother Jung.
She had just picked up the phone when Mother Jung's voice had already come from the other end. "Lali, have you been busy lately? Do you have time to come home for dinner tonight? Little Aunty made your favorite dishes."
Lisa leaned against the back of the chair and adjusted to a comfortable position. The abrupt call from Mother Jung reminded her of the saying there is no such thing as a free lunch.
"Something's the matter?" Lisa asked straightforward.
"Right, right, right. I do have something important to talk to you about. Its about your parents." Mother Jung sighed. "Can you bring with you the jade stamp from your parents that I had given to you in the past?"
Lisa's eyes narrowed. "Is there something wrong with it?"
"It's too complicated to discuss over the phone. Just bring it with you and I'll tell you in person." Mother Jung was being vague about it.
"I have plans today already. Can I come back in the next day or two?" asked Lisa.
Mother Jung paused a little and, not wanting to sound too eager, said, "Okay, just make a trip back within the next couple of days."
"Don't worry, Little Aunty. I always put matters regarding my parents first."
Mother Jung chitchatted some more with Lisa and asked about her wellbeing before they ended the call.
Something occurred to Lisa and she called up Mother Jeon next.
Mother Lu had been resting up in the hospital after her surgery. Lisa asked about Mother Jeon's well being first before she cut to the main reason that she was calling.
