"You know about Kook's situation. You can be setting off firecrackers in front of him and he wouldn't be scared. Nor would he notice the loud noises made by the firecrackers."

Mother Jeon said, "As such, even when grandmother had an episode in front of him, he would not see or hear it, nor would he go and get help."

Lisa pinched her lips shut reflexively, not sure what to say.

"I was upset for a while there after learning that my other had passed away. If he was a normal child, would he be able to help her or get help when my mother had her episode?

"Because of my mother's passing, I had some negative emotions toward Kook. I only learned later that the night that my mother had passed away, Kook got lost. A servant found him in the corner of the yard. He had been in the rain for a long time and had a high fever. He almost passed out from it."

Mother Jeon had been busy with her mother's funeral plus she had been resenting seeing her son for a little while. It had been days before she found out that Jungkook had been sick for days and had lost so much weight that he looked like a different person.

The moment that she saw her son, Mother Jeon ached so much that she could no longer ignore him or blame him.

What had he done wrong?

If he was a normal person, she could blame him for being cold and heartless, but Jungkook was autistic. He wouldn't even know it when he was in trouble himself. He wouldn't ask for help for himself, let alone for someone else.

Lisa's nose tingled and her heart, too, ached. Whose fault was that?

Mother Jeon wiped away the tears coming out of the corners of her eyes. "Aye. Look at me being silly. Why did I suddenly share with you something this sad?"

Lisa shook her head. "I want to know more about Jungkook's past."

She wanted to learn about all of these.

Chatting with Mother Jeon some more, Lisa returned to her room. Jungkook was standing in front of the closet picking out the pajama that he would wear for the night.

Lisa had bought him a lot of sleepwear with different prints. He had been wearing different ones every night.

Lisa had just walked inside when Jungkook reflexively looked over at her.

Jungkook had become much better now. He would react when he heard her footsteps.

Lisa walked over and pulled from his close a dark blue pajama with lots of light blue little fish prints. "Wear this one tonight."

Jungkook didn't like dark blue much, as it was on the darker side. The prints on it made it barely acceptable.

Jungkook went to shower with the pajama that Lisa had picked out for him.

When he got out of shower, Lisa brought him over to the walk-in closet. "Your turn to pick for me. Which dress do you want me to wear?"

Jungkook looked at the clothes inside through the glass door. His lips pinched shut and he said nothing.

Lisa looked up and, standing on her tip toes, leaned into his ear and repeated, "Which dress would you like me to wear?"

Her warm breath falling onto his ear and made his ear tingle. Jungkook quickly pointed at one of the dresses.

Lisa looked over. It was a new one that she had bought. It was a cherry pink colored dress with peach-colored floral prints. It was refreshing and very girlish.

Her eyes curved and she said, "Okay. I will wear this one tonight then."

She will wear the dress picked out by this Kookie to visit Kookie.

Jungkook was stubborn and loyal. He had insisted on using the same shower gel for over 10 years. It stood to reason that his taste in what was pretty would not have changed over the years either.

"You are too tall. Lower your head," said Lisa.

Jungkook lowered his head docilely and looked at Lisa quietly.

He had just showered and there was a hint of nice shower gel fragrant coming from him. With the dark blue pajama with little fish prints along with his messy short hair and clear and handsome face, he was cute beyond words.
