It quieted down around them and, the next second, Mingyu walked straight past all of them leisurely as though he had seen nothing.
"What did he mean by that, Brother?" The boy was baffled. "Do you think he is going to get others?"
Goenhee snickered and said in a meaningful way, "What you so nervous about? We've done nothing."
Lisa, watching as Mingyu departed, gritted her teeth.
She should have known, Mingyu had been targeting Jungkook since he was a child. Of course he would not lift a finger now that he saw Jungkook being bullied.
The other boys understood what Goenhee meant and felt an instant relief.
The Beauty Queen said, "Goenhee, let's go. I am getting hungry." She was tired from standing and didn't want to stay there any longer.
She didn't really like Jungkook. She was merely using him to spite her boyfriend. Now that she was back together with Goenhee, she no longer wished to waste any more time on the fool.
"Brother Shang, the beauty queen said she is hungry. You should feed her as her boyfriend." The boys started to tease.
"Alright, let's go. Dinner's on me," said Goenhee as he lifted his brows.
From Lisa's perspective, this group was stupid and bad.
Goenhee left with his group.
Lisa only had 10 little suns left. She spent one of them and picked up Jungkook's red backpack from the ground.
Lisa patted away the footprints on it and placed it back into Jungkook's hand. She picked up his other hand and said, "Let's go. I'll take you home."
The Jeon family's chauffeur was waiting at the front door. Lisa saw Mingyu sitting inside the car.
She gave him a few intense stares.
Lisa wasn't an impulsive one. Even though she had noticed the abnormalities about Mingyu, she would not rashly run and told that to Mother for Father Jeon.
She knew full well that Mingyu had put up a great front. He had always acted as the perfect son in front of Father and Mother Jeon.
There was no way that Mother Jeon and the others would believe in what she was telling them had she told them about Mingyu now.
She had only been married into the Jeon family for six months and had a rap sheet. Mingyu, on the other hand, had been a filial son and good brother for over 20 years.
Most important, she had no concrete proof at all that could support that Mingyu wasn't the good brother that he pretended to be.
Mingyu looked calm as usual when he saw Jungkook getting inside the car. He said to the chauffeur, "Kook is here. Uncle Chen, we can head out now."
"Yes, Young Master."
Back at the Jeon's place.
Lisa saw Mother Jeon in the living room. She was smiling and she walked up to take the backpack from Jungkook but Jungkook avoided her.
He went upstairs with his backpack without saying a word.
Mingyu said caringly, "Mom, I'm back. There's quite a bit of homework today."
Mother Jeon smiled and said, "Oh okay. Go start on them then. I'll go get you when dinner is ready."
Smiling, Mingyu said, "Okay. Thanks, Mom."
One of them quiet and cold and the other mature and docile, and knew how to appease others.
The contrast between Jungkook and Mingyu were stark.
Lisa couldn't help but gave Mingyu a few more stares. He did that on purpose. He played the role of the perfect son to contrast how bad Jungkook was.
Jungkook had already gone upstairs.
Lisa, not wanting to look at Mingyu's face, went upstairs as well.
She opened up Jungkook's room door with familiarity.
She noticed that all of the curtains in the room had been drawn shut and it was dark inside the room.
She walked inside and closed the door. It became even darker.
She shuffled forward to get closer to Jungkook.
For autistic individuals, they can stay inside a dark room with no trouble navigating through it and finding what they need.
Lisa could make out a tall, dark silhouette in front of the desk.
She walked over.
"Jungkook." Lisa sat down next to him. "It's so dark in here. I can barely see you."
She could only make out his shape.
In the dark, Jungkook sudden reached his hand out and placed it on Lisa's face.
Lisa was taken aback.
