"WHY AREN'T YOU ASLEEP?" Prem shivered when he heard Fluke's angry growl.
"I was about to sleep. I was just..." honestly, he was waiting for Boun. But the older seemed to be busy these days.
"He won't come tonight. Go and sleep." Fluke's tone was extremely cold.
Prem nodded and headed back to his room.
Both Prem and Fluke were still staying in the resort as the storm outside was yet to calm down. Earth's PR had certainly done its magic. Yet, they couldn't say for sure that it was safe to go back to their places.
Even though the resort was luxurious and had all kinds of facilities, Prem still missed the cosiness of his Home. He badly wanted to go back home.
Not to mention that Fluke had turned into a workaholic in the past few days and was almost always in a bad mood. Prem was scared to approach him in such a condition.
The phone's ringing brought Prem out of his daze.
"Hello, Mae." Prem smiled as he spoke."Why can't you at least give us a call when you are in trouble? Do you know how worried your Por and I are after all the scandal broke out?" Jassy scolded her only son.
"Sorry na, Mae. I was a little busy." Prem said chuckling.
"What are you busy with? Aren't you just lazing around in the resort?" Jassy retorted.
"No Mae. I sighed a new project; the one Fluke mentioned the other day. I was doing preparations for that. We kind of had photoshoots and stuff like that to create a new portfolio for me."
"You started working?"
"Yeah, but everything was within the resort. I didn't have to go out." Prem knew that his mother was terrified after learning about him being attacked.
"That's good. That's good." Jassy muttered.
"How about Boun? Is he there?"
"No Mae. He is with P' Kao and others. He has got other work to do." Prem smiled hearing his mother's concern for Boun.
"That child is just too hard working. Prem, you better make sure that he gets enough rest and take care of him." Jassy instructed. Boun had completely won her over. It wouldn't be an understatement if one says that she treated Boun the same way she treated Prem, or even better.
"Khrab Mae." Prem looked at the moon shining in the sky.
"Not just Boun, Fluke too. That kid is so considerate. He even arranged bodyguards for us." Prem could detect his mother's love for Fluke from her tone.
"I know Mae." Prem bit his lower lip. Ever since he was attacked, Fluke had arranged for bodyguards for him as well as his parents. And that had turned out to be useful as both he and his parents were attacked by anti-fans.
Prem couldn't even imagine what would have happened if those bodyguards weren't there to protect them. Thankfully, his parents were yet to realise they were being attacked as the bodyguards assigned to them had secretly taken care of those people.
"I know it is for our safety but it feels weird to be followed around by a bunch of bodyguards. They do keep a distance, but it is still awkward." Richard joined the conversation between mother and son.
"I agree with you Por. It feels kind of creepy. I don't know how other people don't find it odd to have a bunch of black-clothed people follow them." Being a housewife from a middle-class family, Jassy couldn't adjust herself to the new luxury.
"Don't blame me. You should say this to your other son. It's him who is more worried about you guys than I am." Prem chuckled. Fluke was indeed worried about his parents that he was.
Initially, when the scandal started, Prem hadn't even considered the probability that his parents would be attacked. And that was due to two reasons. First of all, he felt that he wasn't famous enough that those anti-fans would recognise his family. Second, his parents didn't live in Bangkok, but in Chiang Mai, where the after-effects of the scandal weren't supposed to be reached.
"I can't even go out for a walk without being followed," Richard complained. Ever since he could walk on his own after being half-paralysed for months, Richard had made the habit of going on short walks on a daily basis as recommended by his physiotherapist. Even though he couldn't walk properly like he used to, he could still walk with the support of a walking stick.
During such walks, he would go to the park in the neighbourhood. He had formed his own friend circle in the park with the other old aged people who come there to exercise. Sometimes, he would even ask Jassy to tag along to join the group.
"Don't worry, Por. It will all be over in a while. Hia and others are doing their best." Prem knew how uncomfortable his father was feeling right then.
"I really do wish everything ends well. If I had known all these are going to happen, then I wouldn't have let you audition for that role." Jassy said feeling distressed.
"Says the person who was the most eager in sending me for the audition because the series was a bl." Prem snorted. He knew that his mother was a die-hard fan of the Bl series. Sometimes she would even force him to watch them along with her.
"I just..." Jassy was trying to cook up an excuse.
"What's done is done. Let's not talk about it." Richard didn't want the mother-son duo to start discussing the Yaoi series. Not that he was against it, but because he didn't have much idea about it and wouldn't be able to join the conversation the other two were having.
"What were you doing now?" Jassy asked changing the topic.
"Nothing Mae. I just got scolded by your other son and was about to go to bed." Prem pouted.
"Fluke wouldn't scold anyone without a reason. You must have done something to irritate him." Jassy justified.
"Mae, are my Mae or his? You always take his side. I didn't do anything." Prem argued playfully.
"I so wish that he was my son instead of you." Jassy joked.
Prem made a face hearing Jassy's comment. It was not the first time he was hearing it. In the beginning, he used to react to it but now he felt nothing. "Aww, I feel sorry for you Khun Jassy. For this lifetime, you will have to make do with me."
"I know right." Jassy sighed dramatically with her husband eyeing her from the side.
"I better go to bed. Or else your beloved son will give me another earful." Prem said.
After hanging up the phone, Prem walked out of the room. He had forgotten to take his medicines. He headed to the dining area to get some water as the mini fridge in his room was emptied by him.
As he passed the dance studio, he could see Fluke practising a dance routine. He wanted to stay and watch but he was too scared to irritate Fluke further. He got his water and went to his room directly.
