Boun was all tensed up as he stood in front of the mirror. He really wished that Ohm was by his side to support him at that moment.

"DAMN!" he cursed as he loosened the satin tie and threw it to the couch. He undid the top two buttons of his shirt, exposing his firm chest.

The vest he was supposed to be wearing, was left hanging on the hanger as he picked up the jacket that came along with the three-piece suit and put it on.

The suit was sent over by Earth for the night as he would finally be launching his attack on his father and elder brother.

The younger guy had insisted that Boun should dress up and look expensive as he would make a mass entry into his enemy's den. But Boun thought otherwise. He felt that he should be showing up as the wild untamable spirit that he was.

Leaving aside all the other accessories, he put on the necklace that Prem gifted him on his birthday. Put kissed the pendant fondly.

He was in the VIP ward of Sirene Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital after they got back from Chonburi. Not that he had any problem but because they wanted to bluff his enemies that he was gravely injured in the attack they arranged.

Since the hospital belonged to Fluke's family, it was safer for Boun to stay there for the time being in order to prevent another attack.

A knock on the door made Boun turn around. He was surprised to see Ann standing at the door.

"Mae?" Boun walked over to her. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at the party?"

Alan had arranged a party to celebrate the merger of a European company with the Dechaphattankuns. It was a project that he had led and succeeded. He wanted to show it to prove that he was a better option as their head than anyone else.

Ann smiled lightly at Boun's question. Dressed in a champagne-coloured evening gown, she looked eternal. "I do." She reached out to hold Boun's hand. "But I figured that you might need me here."

She had come over to encourage Boun before attending the party. She actually wasn't interested in attending such parties yet today, she had volunteered to join it just to watch Boun's performance.

Boun whined and hugged Ann tightly. Her presence meant a lot to him.

Ann chuckled seeing Boun act like a kid. She slowly rubbed the back of his head. "Are you nervous, dear?"

"Khrab. I am really nervous, Mae." Boun answered resting his chin on her shoulder blades.

"You have prepared everything, right? Then, all you have to do is give it your best."

Boun hummed in reply, still hugging his aunt as if he was recharging himself.

"Boun, dear, Mae came here to tell you one thing."

"What is it, Mae?" Boun lifted his head and looked at Ann in the eyes.

Ann held Boun's hand and spoke "No matter what happens today, be it good or bad, I will always love you. You will always be my son irrespective of what anyone else thinks or does. Nothing is going to change between us."

Boun gave her a thin smile as his eyes became wet. Ann's words meant a lot to him. Being left alone if this attempt fails was one of his biggest concerns. He felt empowered by Ann's assurance.

Ann wiped Boun's tears "Also, don't think that you are doing wrong and hurting others, just because those people once meant a lot to you. They hurt you first and you are only returning the favour. Nothing more, nothing less. So take out every ounce of the feeling of guilt from your heart. You are only taking back the things that were originally yours."

Boun nodded looking down at the hand that was holding his. The sense of warmth was too soothing to let go.

"Boun, sometimes it is necessary to let go of people if we want to live a peaceful life. Don't try to hold on to the thrones if they are piercing through your skin and hurting you." Ann spoke in a soft voice. She wanted Boun to stop being hesitant to be the one in offence.

"I know you value relationships so much. You had been dormant about the whole matter in the past years exactly because the people on the other side are the ones you care about. But those people don't feel the same about you. Their arrogance and greed had already hurt you to this extent. It is time to take a stand against them, dear. For your sake and for the sake of everyone that actually loves and cares about you wholeheartedly."

"I know, Mae." Boun sobbed. He knew better than anyone else that those people didn't care about him at all. He had known it all along. But a stupid hope in his heart told him that they might change with time. That was why he waited. All these years, being passive.

"Good." Ann cupped his face. "You don't have to prove yourself to anyone, Boun. Those that care about you don't need you to do that. We can see your potential as clearly as we can see your flaws and trust me when I say these, your strengths outshine all those flaws that others want to exploit, dear. So go out there and show them who you really are. Show them who Boun Noppanut Guntachai is not someone they could afford to mess with."

"Khrab." Boun chuckled in tears. He was reminded of the time he and Ann would play pirates in childhood. Back then Ann would play the role of Jack Sparrow and he would be her number one underling.

Ann could feel that Boun was much more relaxed than before. "Then, can you promise me that you will give it your all and won't back out at the last moment?"

"I promise you, Mae. I will not let you down." Boun said with a confident smile.

"Aww, my baby." Ann cooed. "You have grown so much and I didn't even notice." She had to make Boun dip his head so that she could kiss his forehead like she used to since he was a kid.

She still remembered the time when Boun wasn't even as tall as her hip and always stuck to her side like glue. But now, even with her wearing a five-inch heel, she couldn't reach his forehead.

"Mae, don't call me baby. I am an adult now." Boun pouted. He loved it when Ann called him baby but he wouldn't admit it.

"No matter how big you get, you will still be my baby. Even if you are a century old." Ann giggled.

"I love you na, Mae." Boun hugged her again, feeling thankful to his aunt for providing him with the maternal love that he always longed for.

"I love you too na baby." She hugged him back. A few seconds later she pulled away from the embrace. "Now, I will have to leave. I will meet you at the party."

Boun let her go. Just before exiting the room, she turned around and smiled at him "Su su na, Boun."

"Khrab" Boun smiled widely in return.
