123. Missing

Beep beep.

The blurring noise of the alarm echoed in the bedroom. Ohm slammed his hand on the alarm silencing it. he sat up unwillingly. He had shoot for the whole day and thanks to his bratty cousin, he had barely gotten two hours of sleep.

He had to stay up to listen to Boun's blabbering about his love life which Ohm had no interest in hearing about. It was too much information for him.

Achoo... achoo...

Ohm sneezed. He was pretty sure that he had caught a cold. He whipped his head to glare at his cousin who was sleeping beside him snuggling most of the duvet, leaving him exposed to the cold wind of the air conditioner.

He mercilessly kicked his sleeping cousin out of the bed. Boun fell off the bed along with the duvet.

"Ouch... that hurts," Boun whined sleepily. He sat on the floor rubbing his butt that hit the floor. He covered himself with the duvet, leaving only his face out of it.

"Wake up, asshole," Ohm growled. He was moody from not getting enough sleep.

Boun squinted his eyes to look at the digital clock on the coffee stand and spoke groggily. "It's still so early."

"It's early but I have to head out. Get up now."

"Call me after you get dressed." Boun crawled back to the bed. He found a comfortable position and drifted back to sleep.

The previous night, Boun had insisted on having a sleepover at Ohm's place as it was too late to go back to his own condo. Despite having a bedroom of his own in Ohm's place he ended up sleeping on the latter's bed.

Ohm groaned in frustration and entered the washroom. He was feeling jealous of Boun that he could sleep in while he had to go to work.

He stood under the shower, letting the warm water wash away his sleepiness. His mood slightly brightened up when the sleep and tiredness left his body along with the warm water.

He couldn't remember the last time he had slept on the same bed as Boun. His lips curled up as he remembered how happy Boun looked the whole time the latter was talking about Prem.

He couldn't thank Prem enough for bringing the playful Boun back to life. He was grateful to Prem that he got to see Boun's bright smile that he never thought he would see again. The smile that vanished following that traumatizing incident.

Flashback (8 years ago) .

"Khun Mo, how is she?" Ann asked hurriedly.

The doctor glanced at Tessa who was unconscious on the bed and then at the panicked Ann.

"She is going to be alright as long as she stops taking more stress, Khun Anaya. Her body is currently weak and she needs rest." The family doctor stood up packing up his things. "I will hand the new prescription to Butler Sui so that he can arrange for the medicines."

Ann thanked the doctor and bid him farewell.

The fifteen year old Ohm, who had been standing next to his mother, stared at his sleeping aunt, not feeling an ounce of sympathy or worry for her. He was more worried about his cousin Boun, who had left the house more than six weeks ago and had gone missing.

At the moment, there was nothing he regretted more than not begging the director of the series he was filming to let him have a day off on the day of Boun's birthday and attend the birthday party. He ditched the party because he knew that it would be less of a birthday party and more of a business gathering as his uncle Saen was the one organizing it.

Back then he was planning on celebrating a private birthday party for just him, Boun and some of their close friends on the weekend than with the rest of the family. But all his plans went in vain when Boun was kicked out of the family on his birthday.

Neither Ohm nor his parents were there at the party to support Boun and he had gone missing ever since.

The whole household had been in chaos since that day. Tessa fell sick. Ann and Seth flew down to Bangkok, leaving behind all their work. Oreo stayed with his mother and started missing his classes at the university and worst of all, the old Guntachai couple were also ill.

The only people who seemed to be unaffected by the scenario were Alan and Saen. Neither of them seemed to be worried about Boun's disappearance. They went on with their daily lives as if nothing happened.

Alan at least acted as if he was concerned. Saen didn't even bother to do that. he in turn justified his actions and had Boun's name removed from his family registry.

"P' Seth!" Ann called out seeing her husband walk in. She got up and ran up to him. "Phi, did you manage to find him? did you bring him with you?" she anxiously looked past Seth.

Seth hung his head low and shook his head. "We aren't able to find any trace of him till now, Ann."

"How can you not be able to trace him till now? Didn't you say that you got Colt's address from his student record? Isn't my child with him?" Ann sobbed uncontrollably. She loved Boun as much as she loved her own children. Her heart ached knowing that her beloved nephew might be starving somewhere.

"That address... that seems to be his old address. It no longer exists now." Seth supported his crying wife.

"What do you mean the address doesn't exist?" Ann looked at her husband in confusion.

"The place... it is located in the new highway expansion region. All the residents in the area had long moved out." Seth explained.

Ann felt her knees giving away. she slumped to the floor and wailed. "My child... he... P' Seth... we have to find him..." She felt so helpless and desperate.

"We will find him, Mom. We will." Ohm hugged his mother and consoled her. He knew that Boun was the apple of her eye and his disappearance was taking a toll on her.

Seth knelt before his wife and held her hands. "Ann, you have to stay strong now. You need to stay strong. You will have to take care of everyone here. You have to toughen up now. You can't be fragile now. Who else is going to hold the fort for Boun if not you?"

Ann cried harder hearing Seth. Ohm too turned emotional. But he didn't let the tears in his eyes flow down.

He remembered how excited Boun had been when he said that he was going to introduce his new best friend, Colt to him.

Even though Boun didn't tell him directly, Ohm had a hunch that his cousin was interested in Colt. Since he hadn't met Colt personally, he wasn't sure if the other party was interested in Boun the same way.

Ohm wholeheartedly prayed that Boun was safe and sound.
