“Prem has a very short-tempered personality. No one knows if he goes to find trouble or if trouble finds him. At the end of the day, he will definitely create a mess for Fluke to clean up.” Kao chuckled.

“Are you sure that we are talking about the same person?” Ohm couldn’t help but ask as the Prem he and Boun knew was serious, responsible and patient.

“He must have changed after Fluke left.” Kao picked up a file from the cabinet.

“Fluke left? Why did he leave?” Boun was curious.

“He went abroad with his mom-dad. That’s how they lost touch for all these years. Or else they were inseparable.” Kao turned his attention to the file in his hands.

“P’ Kao, you can look at the file later.” Boun took the file from Kao’s hand. “First answer our questions.”

“What do you guys want to know?” Kao watched Boun put the file away.

“Everything,” Boun answered.

“Ask something specifically. Or else I won’t be able to finish talking tonight.” Kao resigned back to his seat.

“If Fluke spoiled him so much by rescuing him every time, then why is he afraid of Fluke?” Ohm asked trying to calm down his hyperactive cousin Boun.

“Fluke will only save him from others. No one will save him from Fluke. Every time Fluke saves him, there will definitely be punishments from Fluke’s side. Just that most of the time those are beneficial punishments.” Kao answered.

“Beneficial punishments?”

“Yes, beneficial punishments. Like when they were in school and Prem’s score was not good, Fluke would completely cut out meat and other food items that Prem loves and make him eat vegetables that he hates.” Kao said.

Ohm and Boun burst out laughing thinking of how funny it would be to see a foodie like Prem eating vegetables alone.

“Not only that, when he gets into fights or something, Fluke would give him military-style punishments like running twenty-thirty laps around the field or doing a hundred pushups or stuff like that. Thanks to all those punishments, Prem’s body is strong and fit as hell.” Kao shook his head.

“That’s not too bad isn’t it?” Boun asked.

“These are just general cases. There are cases when he made Prem regret being born.”

Boun and Ohm looked at each other and then at Kao eagerly waiting for him to continue the story.

“It was a story that Earth once told me.” Kao looked at his cousins who were paying full attention to him. “Prem got into a fight with a few older kids from the neighbourhood. They were only nine or ten years old then. Prem was beaten up into a pulp. He came back home covered in cuts and bruises. The hell broke for Fluke when he saw Prem in that state. The very next day, Fluke went to find those kids alone and beat them up and took revenge for Prem.”

“So, what were Prem’s punishments in all this?” Boun asked.

“That was what I was about to say. Prem almost didn’t make it to write the final exams of the year because of the injuries. If that had happened, he would have failed a year and would have had to repeat the whole year once again. So, Fluke nursed him himself and made sure that Prem was fit enough to write the exam.” Kao paused.

“The very day the exams were over, Fluke literally threw Prem into a martial arts academy. Two months of summer vacation was sheer torture for Prem. He had to stay in the academy and train. It wasn’t much difficult for him because he already had an athletic background. But, not being able to go out and play was Prem’s biggest problem then.” Kao narrated.

“Doesn’t Pho- Mae say anything to Fluke?” Boun couldn’t believe it. He had seen how much Prem’s mother loves him. It wasn’t realistic that she would let him be tortured like this.

Kao and Ohm were a little surprised to hear Boun addressing Prem’s parents as Pho and Mae.

“No, they won’t. They love Fluke.”

“But, Prem’s their son,” Boun argued

“They trust Fluke, Boun. They know that Fluke will never do anything that can hurt their child.”

Boun frowned upon hearing Kao’s words.

“That is why I am warning you. Don’t ever think of hurting Prem when Fluke is around. He will pay back ten folds. He will never allow anyone to hurt his baby brother.” Kao warned. “It would be better if you stop messing around with him.”

Boun sulked. He was not messing around with Prem. Even though he would never admit his feelings for the younger, it didn’t mean that he saw Prem as a fling.

“They really care about each other, don’t they?” Ohm asked.

“Yes, they do. How to put it…hmm…yes… let’s say it like this, if Prem would die for Fluke, Fluke would kill for Prem.” Kao felt proud after coming out with a statement that fits the situation.

“Prem would die for Fluke?” Boun raised his eyebrows.

“All four of them are very loyal to each other. They will never leave another in a time of need. Especially Fluke. That is why he is the leader among the four.”

“You really like Fluke don’t you?” Ohm asked hearing Kao singing praises about Fluke.

“I like him, but not the way you like him, Ohm.” Kao knew that his little cousin was head of heels for the fluffy-haired little guy. “I advise you not to let those feelings develop. Stay away from Fluke.”

“But why, Phi? Why should I stay away?” Ohm was annoyed.

“I can’t tell you the exact reason but you should know that I had messed up, and currently Boun is messing up and you are the only one who is clean. I want us to maintain a good relationship with those kids. If you join in, it would only make it more chaotic and complicated.” Kao said in a serious tone.

Ohm was silent. He wasn’t really happy to hear Kao’s statement.

“What makes you think that I am messing up everything?” Boun asked pouting.

“Prem is not the kind of guy who goes around with flings, Boun. He takes relationships seriously. He is with you which means he genuinely likes you and cares about you. Given the way you have been acting around him, we can’t really think that you care about Prem.” Kao glared at Boun.

“I do care. I even invited him to live together with me.” Boun defended.

“You asked him to move in with you and went to the club to find someone else to sleep with.” Ohm scoffed.

“I didn’t. I haven’t touched anyone other than Prem ever since the day we slept together. Don’t make assumptions.” Boun was in a bad mood suddenly.

“It’s just not me who makes assumptions, Boun. Prem does too. He saw you with someone else.”

“If there is any misunderstanding between us then I will talk with him and clear it. You stay out of it.” Boun was no longer holding back.

“We have no interest in getting involved in your life Boun,” Ohm said and stormed out of the room.
