Fate (30 Trillion+ Years Ago)

"I cannot believe that you decided to do this" she pointed at the but snail her brother had caught, she crouched down to stare at it before her brother laughed "well, I wanted to catch it! I called him Snailster!" she looked over at Star amused as he continued to pile sticks up to make the snail a home. 

The playground was full of children laughing and running after each other, she and Star were one of the older ones there, only by a year though. To her that was a lot though, she was only fourteen years old after all, that was all she knew.

"Star" she grunted to her twin "we have to get to the cafeteria" Star looked down at Snailster before picking him up and putting him somewhere safe with a sad sigh "bye Snailster" he muttered disappointed as he threw the backpack over his shoulders.

"I really don't want to do the pictures" she growled as she walked down the hallways as she left the playground, Star shrugged "it won't be that bad" he confidently marched forward as he said this. Must be great to not be introverted. 

"Sure," she muttered grumpily as she joined the growing line of students, she peeked over one of the students shoulders and it happened to be one of her bullies, which she didn't notice because they were wearing something different than usually. They seemed disgusted at her very presence and she heard them scoff as they pushed her away roughly, "stay back freak, I am going to look pretty and I can't have your creepy ass hallucinations tainting my good looks" Fate was very irritated by her words. 

She stared at them contemplating whether or not she should shove Beatrice into the trashcan that she was standing next to, as satisfying as it would be, it would not be worth it. Beatrice would whine and cry about her hallucinations tainting her and driving Fate to do evil things and next thing you'd know is Fate'd be in student counseling with stupid lazy Larry asking her why she did what she did and if she took her antipsychotics, which she did. 

They did literally nothing, she's pretty sure they were supposed to do something. 

That aside, Lazy Larry would be asking her questions in his stupid slurred voice like 'did the voices tell you to shove her in the trash?' or 'do we need to try and exorcist you again Fate?' than he'd pull his cross out because this is a Christian school and pray for the demons to leave her body, for fucks sakes, it's not worth the couple of seconds of satisfaction, nothing is worth it.

She stepped back and away from Beatrice and Star, not wanting to also become a laughing stock, just didn't help her. She didn't blame him. She ignored a wispy tap at her shoulder as she stood there and she was getting uncomfortable at the breathing down her shoulder, it was highly unnatural so whenever she told her family about her hallucinations wet mist thing her family just tells her that's the schizophrenia.

She heard the hallucinations raspy breathing and it whispered "there's going to be a shooting, hide in your locker, hide hide hide" Fate tried to ignore it stiffly and Star shook her and asked "well, what's your ideas for uhh... I dunno, the quote for the picture?" "hmph, I'm going to quote Plankton" she shrugged and Star hesitated out of confusion. 

"Who's that?" he asked and Fate turned over and asked bewildered "Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants?" she was expecting a look of recognition in her brothers eyes, instead, all she got was confusion and worry. "Fate... uh... that doesn't exist" shit- a feeling of stress filled her before she just said while absolutely coping "I'll do it anyway" she pressed the stress back. 

Star hesitated before he said "looks like we're up next!" "hide hide hide" Fate put her hand up her sleeve and gripped her arm hard with her claws as she stood walked forward, she squeezed her eye shut before walking in after her twin was done taking his pictures. 

She stared into her tray of food as she listened to the hallucinations warnings, they were getting more and more desperate by the second and her heard pounded in her chest and she looked over at the clock and saw it was near the time that hallucination was telling her it would happen. 

Fate's head snapped over as she saw a unknown person outside the window, at this point her nerves were shot and Star was talking with his large group of friends. He was pretty popular around the school and Fate held the shitty burger in shaking hands as she stared at them, she looked away but her head snapped back over when she heard some sickening wet thumps. 

She gasped and flinched away as she noticed that they were dead at the table and the table was covered in black blood, it touched her hoody sleeve and it was warm and sticky as it seeped through. Her nerves got even more shot and she blinked and they were back to talking and being alive. Fate dropped her burger into her beans on her tray with a wet smack and her hands held the shape of holding the burger as they shook all over the place, Star finally noticed and he asked "hey, are you okay?" Fate grabbed his hand tightly and suddenly before dragging him off the table and speed walked out of the cafeteria. 

"Hey- Fate, we're going to get in trouble!" Star shouted and Fate just held his hand in a iron grip as he struggled and complained, "hide hide hide" Fate was small enough to shove herself in her locker along with her brother and she slammed it shut, "Fate, what the hell?! You just trapped us in here!" Fate looked down at her watch and the ominous time was on there and she hugged her brother while shaking. 

"Fate... your having another episode... Fate, come on, you need to calm down, whatever your seeing isn't real" Fate hugged her brother as tight as she could and he grunted but he stared at her in concern. "Fate, we're trapped in here, we can't leave until someone gets us out, do you see the problem with this? We're going to miss lunch, you've eaten nothing" maybe I'm just being paranoid, maybe he's right. 

She squeezed her eye shut though and hid herself the best she could, suddenly, Fate's eye snapped open in panic and fear as shots rang through the air and the sound of terrified screaming filled the air. 

This time, she wasn't the only one who heard it, she felt Star stiffen up and he hid himself into her with a terrified shriek. 

All they could do was hide in the locker and hope they didn't get caught, at one point the shooters shot up the lockers beside them. Only her locker was untouched as they marched down the halls and her heart pounded in her chest as she questioned all the life decisions that led her to this, she wanted to be back at home right now and she heard her brothers soft scared cries. 

Eventually the police did come and she was forced out of the locked despite the fact that she felt stuck in place, "come on kid-" the officer grunted and she was frozen up like a statue while shaking and crying as they dragged her out of the locker. "Your parents are waiting for you" the officer said softly to her "can you let go of your brother please?" Fate just shook her head and the orange officer stared at her with his three eyes before silently leading her to her parents. 

He made her close her eye and she swore she stepped on something warm and wet and she let out a choked up sob of fear and panic before she knew exactly what that was, when she opened her eye she was met by a warm embrace from her mother and she asked "are you hurt, are you okay?" all Fate could muster was a nod. 

Only she and Star survived.
