"It's so... calm in here," Xyra commented as you both made your way across the ruins of an ancient civilization- or rather what was left of it.

You looked to your left and right. Crumbled sandstone buildings filled this place; their roofs caved in and walls broken down. There was no way someone still lived there. The air was full of dust and sand as well.

You and the team slowly made your way across the sandy paths, careful not to touch anything that could trigger something to break down further.

Pidge looked down on her arm, where a holographic screen of her analysis appeared. "I still can't tell where the signal originates. I'll keep trying to triangulate its location."

"If it weren't for the signal, I'd doubt there was anyone here, to be honest," you admitted. "This place looks completely abandoned. I wonder where they are."

"And how long it's been since they left," Lance added.

You nodded in agreement. It looked like it couldn't have been too long. For once, the infrastructure showed signs of destruction, but no natural wear or deterioration. If you had to guess, it was probably caused by war.

Long abandoned places showed signs of overgrowth, but it didn't look like this planet had any major growth at all, since it was a desert planet. You weren't too sure what went down here.

You explored this place further, but everything looked the same. It had the same damage to the monuments, the same infrastructure everywhere, and still no sign of any life. The scorching sun made it hard to keep your motivation up and keep looking.

Suddenly, Kosmo started growling. You turned around to see what caused it. "What is it?" Keith asked, watching him as well.

The wolf ran off, climbing up a pile of rubble and debris before disappearing with a jump.

"Follow me," Keith instructed before following Kosmo up the hill. You did the same, jogging up to see what lead Kosmo was following.

"Woah," you muttered when you saw. Kosmo had tackled a person, threatening him with a growl to stay on the ground.

You immediately activated your bayard and gestured for the rest to come along. He was the only one you saw around, who knew how dangerous this guy could be?

"Good job," you whispered to Kosmo as you pet him. The person on the ground held their arms high in defeat. You couldn't make out his face, though, since he had a mask on.

Was it because of the air pollution or to stay anonymous? You weren't sure.

"Who are you?" you asked sternly, holding your dagger closer. "And who's broadcasting this signal?"

"It was me!" he explained frantically.

"Impossible," Keith interjected. "You're no Blade of Marmora."
