"From all the things I pictured in my future life, nothing could have prepared me for this."

You watched Pidge log information into her tablet while you leaned on the railing of a planter box and sulked.
Pidge and her mother had been tending to a few new plants from outer space in this botanical garden. Today, you decided to accompany them so you could complain about something you had found out about a few days ago.
"Was it really that obvious? Why did they portray me like that?" you said for the hundredth time today.
A new series had come out a few weeks ago; it was one of Voltron, with all of you paladins as the main characters. You had forced Keith to watch it with you, but immediately were embarrassed the moment you saw how they decided to portray each one of you- specifically you, to be honest.
Pidge sighed, before giving you a glance from the side. "You really have no right to complain, (Y/N). Have you seen what they did to me?"
"Yeah but still. They made me so... extreme."
Pidge furrowed her brows at you, before deciding to continue her work on the plants. You didn't let that stop you from continuing to talk.
"People are going to think I really behave that way. Like some... diva girlboss that suddenly turns into a damsel in distress around him. Who even told these producers to do that?"
"I mean, they made Keith the same way, right? He's even more emo in the series than in real life but turns into some romancing guy the minute he lays eyes on you. I think they assumed they'd get more viewers with a love story like that or something."
You couldn't hold back the chuckle at the mention of that. "Yeah, that's actually funny, though."
Pidge side-eyed you for a moment. "As long as it isn't you, huh?"
"Exactly." You pushed yourself from the plant box and wandered around the place with Pidge, who moved onto the next corner of the room.
Suddenly, Allura and Romelle barged into the room. "Pidge, (Y/N)," Allura called out as the two of them closed in. "Do you two have a moment?"
You shrugged your shoulders as you nodded, Pidge agreed as well.
Allura looked to the side, hands clasped together. All of a sudden, she seemed kind of flustered, like she was embarrassed to say her next words.
"Lance invited a few of us over for dinner," she finished, cheeks getting reddened.
"Really? Who is going?"
Romelle nodded and replied for Allura, "The two of us, Xyra and Lotor and his crew. Lance said his home would be big enough to host all of us for tonight, since, you know, we don't have family to visit." Romelle softly elbowed Allura in the arm. "She wants to get proper attire for a certain prince."
