"From all the things I pictured in my future life, nothing could have prepared me for this."

When Lance forced you and the others to a night out, you had no choice but to join them.
Through a series of completely unexpected events, though, the...

Something in the distance was shouting your name.
You only slowly came to feel your body again, to your thoughts actually becoming coherent instead of a blurry mess of memories and sensations.
"(Y/N)," someone yelled. It wasn't someone near you. The sound had a static sound to it. Someone was talking through your helmet.
Wait, where were you?
Your eyes snapped open, taking in your environment. "(Y/N), are you okay?" someone spoke through your helmet again. You recognized the voice as Keith's.
"Yeah," you started, taking in a deep breath. You were in a prisoner's cell- purple, cold, alone; you closed your eyes. "I- I don't know."
Shit.
Your fingers trembled against your will, so you clenched them into fists, digging your fingernails into your palms. Your helmet felt suffocating, but you kept it on for communication.
Memories flooded your mind- from when you were in a place just like this. It was the same. The complete same. You tried not to think of it but your brain didn't listen.
You knew what was happening; you knew why your body was reacting this way to your surroundings, and although you were aware, there didn't seem a way for you to stop it and calm yourself. It was strange, and frustrating, and terrifying.
You sat on the cold floor, hugging your legs close to you. "What do I do?" you cried out breathlessly.
"Just focus on my voice. Let's just count together, alright?"
Someone else chimed in, it was Allura, who suggested, "(Y/N), you should try the exercise we did together. In the training deck."
You tried to remember it, but it was hard thinking straight right now.
"I'm not sure if a training exercise would help now," Keith commented in a confused tone. You'd laugh if it weren't for the situation right now.
"No, no, it was a breathing exercise. (Y/N), imagine the energy flowing through your body as you breathe. Imagine the quintessence, like we did before."
You breathed out through your mouth, trying to regulate the pace. It was difficult and you weren't sure if it would work.
Black dots filled your vision, so you closed your eyes once again and started imagining. The pictures in your mind were fleeting, being interrupted constantly by your thoughts of fear and occasional moments of dizziness.
With your hands on the ground, palms open and fingers spread out to feel the ground, you tried to imagine light being sucked into your fingertips from below.
"Imagine it flowing through your arms, and to your chest," Allura explained.
"Okay, okay," you muttered in between breaths. Light was traveling into your hand, up your arms.
