"From all the things I pictured in my future life, nothing could have prepared me for this."

You sat in the chair of the Red Lion, knees to your chest as you hugged your legs tight.
Just a few days ago, Olkarion had been destroyed by the robeast; the only thing remaining of that planet being debris and chunks of dead rock, where there was once a forest so alive and people so wise and kind hearted. It affected Pidge the most and she's been quieter than usual ever since.
The only thing to cheer you up was the fact that the next stop was going to be Liadore. You had been waiting for this day for such a long time, and you were almost there. It almost felt surreal, but you were ecstatic to meet Garrick again and see how they've been doing.
Of course, you heard a few things through your communicator but you wanted to see for yourself.
"We'll be there in an hour. Atlas will arrive a little before us," Pidge stated with a tired voice.
It's been almost 20 hours since you last slept and although you were too restless to sleep, you felt the tiredness pulling on your eyelids, making them heavier than ever. You told yourself that when you'd arrive and get to see your old friend again, the excitement alone would wake you up instantly.
So you decided to tough it out; yawning every few minutes but determined to stay conscious to see Liadore come into view when you're close enough.
"I wonder if they can help us out with the robeasts. I mean, sure, we can track them now thanks to the Olkari, but we can't jump into battle with them just like that." Lance's voice was rather casual as he was trying for a conversation. He probably must have felt how down the others were feeling and was attempting to distract them.
"Yeah, that's why it's good timing that we planned this trip for today," you replied. Liadore's fields of research had shifted a little away from strategy and diplomacy and a lot of funding has now gone into the other sciences but they were still the top guys to go to for a problem of your caliber. You wondered if you should try to recruit some of them for the Atlas team.
You sighed, leaning back and letting your head drop to the side. There were just too many things running through your mind and one of those things was hiding in a jacket right next to you. Your eyes fell to the bottles hidden in the fabric of your clothing that was lazily thrown to the floor.
The quintessence bottles you promised yourself to get rid of a few days ago. You couldn't bring yourself to do it, simply because they were too valuable. Maybe Garrick knew what to do with it.
It must be connected to the robeasts. There was nothing to indicate it but you felt it in your bones, especially when you had that essence flowing through you. You wondered if the Altean inside the robot you fought on Earth was infused with it as well. They were stronger than the ones before so they must have been.
