"From all the things I pictured in my future life, nothing could have prepared me for this."

When Lance forced you and the others to a night out, you had no choice but to join them.
Through a series of completely unexpected events, though, the...

The light was getting dim, and the air was cooler. You took off your helmet to take a deep breath of fresh air.
Meanwhile, Keith and Lance brought out Shiro from the Black Lion. He was unconscious, his body limp as they both dragged him towards the group and carefully laid him on the ground.
Allura knelt to him as well, while Keith held his head. "This body is barely living, but Shiro's spirit is alive. It's inside the Black Lion. I've heard him talking to me."
You stood next to Lance, whose face immediately seemed to fall into a regretful expression. His brows furrowed and he stammered as he said, "He... he tried to tell me, but I didn't realize."
You watched as his eyes teared up. Immediately, he knelt to Shiro as well, mumbling an apology.
What did he mean by that? Your eyes narrowed as you took in the scene before you. You stepped forward, reaching out a hand to comfort him but Allura was ahead of you.
With a hand on his shoulder and a reassuring expression, she managed to calm him down.
Then, she got up and slowly walked over to the Black Lion. Everyone was quiet, even Lotor and his team, as they watched Allura put her hand on the snout of the Black Lion. She closed her eyes, putting her head down in concentration when purple light suddenly surrounded her hands, right where she made contact with the metal.
You, Xyra, and Lotor exchanged looks. "Whoa, what's going on?" you whispered.
"I assume she's extracting the essence of your teammate's soul," Lotor replied, hands on his chin as he stared at Allura.
You slowly nodded, as if you fully understood the situation now. How was this even possible? Was Allura able to do this the entire time?!
Slowly, the purple light from the Lion transferred to Allura's body, who almost seemed to be... glowing? She was definitely glowing right now, what the hell?
When she turned around to you, you saw that even her eyes were full of this light. She walked over to Shiro while you were barely able to keep your jaw from reaching the floor. Was she seriously carrying two souls in her body right now? You wondered how something like that would feel.
Allura held her hands to Shiro's temples, and slowly but surely transferred his soul back into his body. The process was fascinating to watch, everyone held still as she did her thing.
Would it work? Would you guys get Shiro's soul back? It was weird to think that all this time you had spent with him in the Castle, it wasn't really... him. If his soul was trapped in the Lion, what exactly was operating this copy of him?
Surely, it must have been Haggar's work. Ever since he vanished after the fight with Zarkon, Haggar must have used Shiro to surveil all of you. You shivered, thinking of all the things you might have revealed to Haggar this way.
