"Be careful." You said as you flattened out the leather vest you loved.
"When am I not careful Shine shine?"
"You know what I mean Baby, just come home to me."
"I always do." He leaned down and lightly kissed you, his hand finding its way into your hair, my own hands finding the front of the vest again to rest there.
"I love you." You whispered
"Yea, yea."
"I have a surprise for you when you get back, and it's red and lacy." His clear blue eyes lit up and a smirk crossed your face.
"Have I told you lately you're the best?"
"Just come home Daryl." Your arms finding their way around his torso as his wrapped around your shoulders.
"Daryl, time to go." Rick called.
"Coming Rick!" He called back before kissing the top of your head.
"See ya when I get back from Woodberry." He said as he let you go and started towards the car, to go rescue Glenn and Maggie.

After they left you just say at a table and played with the topaz ring Daryl gave you in Atlanta. That ring looked just like his eyes and was the most important thing you owned at the moment.

"You wanna come here a minute." Daryl called as you sat on a tree stomp fixing his torn shirt.

Your eyes never leaving the shiny, thin needle as it entered and exited the fabric.
"Well why can't you just come over here, so I can finish this shirt before sundown."
"Sunshine, it doesn't take hours to fix a little tear you are almost done with anyway." He replied, you could hear the smile laced through his voice, you lift your head and turned it to the right to see the redneck leaning against a tree trunk, his arms crossed and his clear blue eyes fixated right on you.
"Well what do I get out of it lover boy?"
"He'll tell ya what, we'll do something you wanna do first."
"Really?" You raised an eyebrow as he replied, "what do you got in mind Sunshine?"
"Well I think we will both enjoy this." You swung your leg over and proceed towards him, upon reaching him you grabbed the back of his head and brought his lips closer to yours, his moving insync with yours. That's when you moved your hand from his head to his shirt and vest which were quickly removed as he fumbled with your buttons, you stopped to pull the hem of his shirt over his head and then went back to make out as he started to fumble with the clasps of your red bra.
As he tried to do that you slowly started pushing him towards the tent, stopping outside the flap to quickly unbutton his pants as he slipped the bra off and tossed it on the grassy plain. After that his hands went to your pants and then he pulled away for a second, and pulled you into the tent, and pushed you onto the bedding, as you giggled away in glee.

When you were done you laid there tangled in the blankets, your head resting on the left side of his chest and your arm flung across the rest, his arm was rapped around your shoulder and back as he hugged you closer, your legs overlapping each other, as you laid in the sound of your guy's heavy breathing.
"See this is why we always do what I want first." You smiled as you leaned your head down and placed a single kiss on his bare chest.
"Well I have to admit, you always pick the fun stuff."
"I mean the hunting trips you plan are always fun. I love just being in the woods and you know it."
"Yea but sadly we ain't doing it anymore because we love the woods, now we got to do it to survive."
"It reminds me of our first date, of what the world was like before all this shit happened."
I could feel him chuckle at the mention of our first date as he replied, "you mean the one where you shot a tiny little rabbit thinking it was a coon?"
You smiled at the thought, "yes Daryl the very same."
"Listen I got to tell ya, I've loved you since that moment, not many gals would want to go into the woods with a sketchy redneck and his brother."
"Sweetie..." You rested your chin on his chest and looked into his eyes.
"I don't often tell ya, because I never know the right shit to say, even now i'm trying to figure it out, all I know is I don't wanna lose you, not ever."
"Babe I'm not going no where, you are stuck with my bratty ass forever." You smiled as you pushed up a little and placed a kiss on his lips. You could feel him lean his body to reach for something as you did and when you pulled away you saw his was holding a gold banded ring with a tiny topez setting.
"I was hoping this would say it all, and maybe one day when all this shit is over, we can have a proper wedding."
"Daryl are you..."
"Just say yes sunshine, because after the good time you just showed me, I would hate for you to say no."
"Of course I will, if you're ok with being stuck together for life?"
"Wouldn't have it any other way." He whispered as he slipped the ring onto your hand.

You loved that man, with every fiber of your being, while you waited you moved from the table to helping Beth and Carol with Judith, or as Daryl called her Little Asskicker. After hours you heard the sound of a car start to pull up, you handed Beth the baby and rushed to the nearest window where you saw the mint green car roll up, and could fanitly see three figures walking towards the prison who were no doubt Carol, Carl and Rick. You ran down the stairs and arrived at the entrance just as Glenn was getting out of the car, along with Maggie and the mute, but no Oscar, and no Daryl.
"Where is Oscar?" You asked as he just looked at you with sad eyes.
"Didn't make it." He said softly, clearly he was hurt, a lot worse then Maggie.
"What about Daryl?" You asked, but your only reply was silence and Glenn clapping your shoulder. You just stood there in shock thinking he was dead and gone forever. You knew he would never wanna be a walker, he would much rather get an arrow between the eyes. You heard Rick scream your name just as the world slowly faded to black, the last thing on your mind was the fact that you didn't get to say goodbye.
