Y/N POV

Since we didn't really have much to do, me and Ahri decided to go and farm off the local wildlife. It had dawned on me after leaving the cave that we were essentially driving animals to extinction. That was until we saw animals being spawned back in. We had to go and clear that cave again once we had returned. It seemed as if the creatures here shared a similar respawn timer to Jungle Mobs. With that being the case, farming up to Bronze may not be that hard. This, however, gave us some new issues. We can't just keep fighting all day and we needed a place to stay. Without that second one, we probably won't survive even one week. The heat was also becoming unbearable. I lost count of how many times I had wiped sweat from my forehead.

Ahri had made a suggestion a few minutes ago to head toward the trees so we did. Give us some shade to hide from the sun. The only issue with being near the trees was all the potential attacks we could suffer. It only takes a moment of confusion to do us in. I even caught myself peeking around every tree we passed to make sure nobody was lurking around.

Ahri: I have good hearing you know.

Y/N: Helps to have a pair of eyes to see. You never know when you might find something you can't hear.

Ahri: Fair enough.

Anytime we were outside of a nice conversation, Ahri returned to her old self. Reserved and cautious. While it was comforting that she was ready at a moment's notice, her being unable to relax around me was upsetting. Back on Earth, she seemed completely fine, but that may be due to the change of atmosphere. There, you ain't gotta worry about much, especially when you're basically invincible compared to a human. Here, you're forced to sleep with one eye open. Runeterra has enough world-ending threats to make you go crazy from the loss of sleep. It's inevitable that I'll run into one eventually. I just hope it's when I have more experience and am actually prepared for one.

Ahri: Do you know where you're leading us?

Y/N: I'm about to.

Really should've checked the map beforehand. I pull it up and begin to take notes of everything around us. We were closer to town than before and we were along the coast. We could hear the waves crashing up against some rocks from here actually. I gesture towards the water and Ahri just shrugs her shoulders. I led her straight to the ledge where we got a really nice view of the ocean.

Y/N: Don't get to see many views like this.

Ahri: Cause of that city you live in?

Y/N: Yep. Dayton, Ohio. It ain't amazing but it is home. I wouldn't mind moving away though. Head out to the country where nobody can find me.

Ahri: Sounds nice. I've lived there for quite a while. It gets kinda lonely if you don't bring someone with you though.

Y/N: Yeah. Did you... ever have someone...?

She doesn't respond for a moment. She just nods her head slightly. I remember now. Ahri was in love with someone but killed him. With the timing of things and how she clearly remembers him, it dawns on me that this world may not have a structured story. I just had to confirm.

Y/N: Did you ever meet someone in Ionia? A man with a single blade he could control the wind with?

Ahri: No? Why do you ask?

Y/N: Nothing too important.

Then it is true. The events of the Ruined King story may not have happened. If that's the case, does this mean they will happen later or at all? By binding Ahri to me, have I messed up the storyline? There's so much to consider. One thing, in particular, concerns me though. Ahri didn't want to be alone again during that story and is even forgiven by her lover. By pulling her from the game, have I ruined that? Ahri may not want to be with me cause she desires to be alone. No, I don't believe she wants to be. She chose to come to me and I think I've made it clear she doesn't have to stay.
