Marco POV
This was bad. One moment I was just speaking with my mother, the next I was running through the crowd toward Y/N's group. I told her this was a bad idea and of course, she still didn't listen.
Y/N: M-mom...?
Crap! Things are about to go south really fast!
Lydia: Hey sweetie.
I could just see her look over at her son and smile before quickly glaring back at Carolina. Despite being able to arrive on time, I had no idea what to do. I could see Harrison cowering behind Carolina with Bailey in his arms.
Bailey: Mommy!
Harrison: Quiet Bailey! Neither of us is going toward that... that thing...!
He was shaking like a leaf while Bailey was trying to get out of his arms. Obviously, Lydia was hurt by this comment.
Lydia: Still haven't gotten over it, huh?
Carolina: Of course, he hasn't. You don't almost lose the lower half of your face and expect the fear and pain to just go away.
Lydia: He wasn't the only one in pain that day.
Carolina: Spare me the details. You don't belong here or anywhere near my family.
Y/N: P-please, mom-
Seeing that he has taken to calling Carolina mom instead of mama, Y/N doesn't seem to know who he was referring to. Ahri was doing her best to keep him still with her hand in his but it was clear he was beginning to lose it.
Sonya: What's going on over here?
She, Dustin, and Petra came over as well. Since this was growing into a scene people were starting to crowd around. They were mostly whispering about Carolina and her status as the owner of Indigo. Nobody really knew who Y/N's stepmom was other than the fact that he had one.
Petra: This can't be good.
Dustin: No, no it is not!
Lydia: Your family? Let me remind you that you are not the one who built it. You certainly didn't teach our son anything he knows.
Okay, only part of that was good. She has acknowledged that Carolina is Y/N's stepmother but everything else was bad. She was basically enticing Carolina's wrath and fear from Harrison.
Carolina: And who gave them a home that would never abuse them physically and mentally? Who gave them the ability to move past what happened and lived a normal happy life?
Lydia: This family was founded on its past damn it! A past that my parents built! I would never abuse that!
Carolina: A broken jaw and three broken hearts isn't abuse now?
Harrison looked like he had enough and began to walk away.
Bailey: Mommy!
Harrison: No! I'm not letting you-
Rakan pulls a fast one on him and manages to snatch Bailey out of his arms.
Rakan: Let's go see mommy.
Harrison: Hey, give her back!
Rakan: Not until the baby has spent some time with her old mommy.
Carolina looks back at him but by the time she tried to stop him, he was already next to Lydia.
Lydia: Hey sweetie.
