Y/N POV

I don't think I am mentally prepared to train with Irelia. Especially after my little breakdown. Saying I was lucky may actually be an understatement. It was like god was looking down on me and told Ahri off long enough for me to run. At that point, it would've taken one mistake for my life to end. Even if I am learning more things that will be useful, I'm still not really a fighter.

Irelia: We're here.

We entered what looked like an open sanctum. The room was circular with a single elevated platform in the middle. There was a lot of flowing water in here. You could even see outside through the large open window.

Y/N: What exactly is this place?

Irelia: It is the meditation circle. Many monks come here to seek enlightenment and attune themselves to nature's voice. It will be perfect for sparring today.

She wants to spar?! Is it possible for me to die while in the city? I really want to think they'll act like spawn points when you get into the game but since I would've spawned here otherwise, I don't think I want to fool myself into believing that the spawn mechanics transfer over.

Y/N: Y-you want to spar...? With m-m-me!?

Irelia: If you're going to travel around, you need to know how to defend yourself. In order for me to know how good you are, I need to spar with you.

She then opens up a menu and two identical weapons. When she tossed me one, I kinda fumbled to catch it and end up picking it up off the ground. It was a Kendo Shinai Bamboo Katana like back on Earth. I guess it makes sense that they would also have these, especially here in Ionia. Irelia then took a stance that showed off just how well she knew the weapon. My stance was incredibly basic. I could already see Irelia eyeing me up. The form was the basic sword in front with one leg forward and the other one back. She was scanning me for any openings I may have had.

Irelia: Let us begin.

As soon as I gulped, she flies forward and takes a swing. I'm let out a squeak sound in sheer terror and move out of the way instead of blocking. She was very quick though and immediately came back around and hit my katana. I was able to put enough strength into my grip at that moment so she didn't hit me with my own weapon. Unfortunately, I froze up after that and got my legs sweeped. As I felt the end of her katana against my chest, she sighed through her nose.

Irelia: You're very slow and aren't much of a fighter. Are you sure you should be traveling?

Y/N: I n-need to learn to defend myself.

Irelia: Well you've got a long way to go.

She removes her weapon and sits down with her legs crisscrossed. It looked like she was about to meditate right in front of me. As I lean up, she opens her eyes.

Irelia: You are still quite young so it may be possible to train you over the next few years. You'd be trained in mind, soul and body, as well as your form with weapons. Though I myself doubt I could make the time for one traveler. Master Yi may be willing to take you on.

Y/N: But I don't have years, I-

I clamp my lips shut but it was too late. Irelia was giving me a suspicious look now.

Irelia: Is something the matter?

Y/N: N-no.. I mean.. yes.. I.. uh..!

Irelia: Breath. Breath.

As she stops me, I take in a few deep breaths again.

Irelia: Now tell me what is wrong.

I can't tell her I come from another world, she'll think I'm crazy or something. Maybe I can make up some sort of story. It has to be really believable though.
