Marco POV
So Dustin came up with the idea of watching the entire event play out from the window. It was a little hard to see thanks to the curtains but we could at least hear the conversation. Dustin and Sonya celebrated the win with a secret handshake thing.
Dustin: Who would've thought that Bailey was going to have such a reaction? It's like a miracle bro!
Sonya: I know right? Imagine having to send away our new friends cause she wouldn't like that.
I chuckle a little before peeking through the curtains again. My gaze was fixed on Harrison. He's changed a lot, so much to the point I'm concerned. Firstly, why did he whistle to Bailey and have her react like a dog? That's not right in the slightest. In fact, it is incredibly wrong. It being his own daughter makes it worse. Carolina at the very least seems like she wants to try this and that the reveal merely shocked her and made her worry for Y/N. Harrison on the other hand...
Dustin: Marco, come on! Let's go get some shakes so we can celebrate.
Marco: There's a calm before every storm you two.
Dustin: Oh, don't start getting paranoid on us. This family thing will work out nicely should Teemo not throw a wrench into it.
Marco: Considering half of what happened was entirely part of his plan, it would be pretty counterproductive to ruin it. No, what concerns me is Y/N's father.
I gesture for the two of them to follow me as it was best to leave the growing family be for now. Since it was something to celebrate I led them to the nearest place that was making milkshakes. Once we gotta settled down at one of the outdoor tables, that's when I began to speak my mind.
Sonya: So Harrison is the concern? Why would that be? Carolina I could see being a problem by why Harrison?
Marco: It's called impressions. Both parents have their own impressions of the situation. However, both are opposites.
Dustin: English nerd.
I roll my eyes and sigh before finding the words. Then I mentally cursed Dustin and continued with what I was saying.
Marco: Carolina wants to be Y/N's mother so badly. Yes, she's not good at it if her reaction to the reveal is anything to go by. Wanting to have control over Y/N's life but also wishing for his happiness are two different things that CAN work with one another given her stance. She's the current owner of a rather big IT business that Y/N works at part-time so she does have some control over his life. However, there is the want to be his actual mother. Then, there's the final piece.
Sonya: Understanding.
Marco: Correct. She needs to understand where she stands as his new mother and where he stands in his Isekai journey. Therefore she has to relinquish control and let him do what he thinks needs to be done.
Dustin: So basically, she wants to leave the impression that she's a good mother like her predecessor?
Marco: Pretty much.
Dustin: Could've explained that in a shorter essay.
Marco: The reason I explained it that way is so you can understand my concern for Harrison's position.
Dustin rubs his face in annoyance while Sonya just leaned in, straw in her mouth.
Dustin: Buddy, the family drama is almost over. Y/N wants to go off and defy what is essentially god and make a video game world a better place. Can we just have this?
