Teemo POV

It was Sunday morning and in just a few hours the memorial would start. There wasn't a dress-code they had to follow so Lydia was just going to go in a casual getup with a backpack for me to hide away in.

Teemo: You sure you can carry me in that thing? I'm about as big as it is.

Lydia: I can't exactly just carry you in my arms. A lot of people are going to be there and you'd draw attention.

Teemo: Wouldn't the bag do the same?

Lydia: It could but I don't think people will care as much.

Okay, so we needed some sort of idea for me to still be close to her and not draw attention. I could shapeshift into another animal but I don't know how long the memorial is. If I drop the form at any point during it, my cover would be blown. The Guinea Pig form is a no-go but I might be able to do a dog. Ugh, that'll be even harder to maintain and I've got to learn how to move on four legs. Not to mention, I gotta get the breed right.

Teemo: You know what, I'll just go as myself.

Lydia: Excuse you?

Teemo: I never said I would be seen. As history would suggest, I have managed to navigate many populated areas and have never been caught.

Lydia: Only in Runeterra buddy and this isn't Runeterra.

Teemo: No true. I did manage to sneak all around Y/N's school once.

Lydia: Right. When you basically bombed the place with mushrooms. How could I forget.

I got a bit of a shiver as her voice went cold. Seems she was still upset about that. Don't know why since Y/N was now a high school graduate. Everything worked out in the end. For the next hour or so, we just kinda talked about little things just so we could pass the time. When we finally had to leave, I made sure to sit in the backseat so that no one would immediately see me.

Teemo: You know where the memorial is happening?

Lydia: In a church in between the two towns so it'll be a bit before we arrive.

I hum before getting comfortable as this seat belt would allow me. Too keep myself entertained, I rummage through my bag for anything I could use. The first thing I pull out was... Y/N's damaged glasses from when he was a Sentinel. I forgot I actually grabbed this. Maybe I grabbed it as a reminder to myself or maybe to find a way to fix it? At least this confirms that we can bring stuff back. Not sure if it's always the smart decision but here we are.

Lydia: Teemo, when you said Y/N was... your son, what made you say that?

Oh... I didn't think we were having this conversation until we came to the end of this. Well, we are alone right now so...

Teemo: It's just... I've met a lot of people like Y/N before. A few of them... were my own kids. It's hard to look at Y/N in a different light after you've drawn the comparisons.

I see her glance up at me through the rear view mirror for just a second.

Teemo: It's like motherly instinct. In this regard, it's the instinct to continue being a father. Knowing full well that this could be my last life, I... wanna make the most of it.

She doesn't say anything for like, a whole minute. This car ride was already difficult for me, and this just made it worse. Looking back down at the glasses, I remember now that Y/N doesn't know what I said. He may suspect something but he doesn't know right off. I hesitate to start that conversation with him. For me, it's... embarrassing. This conversation was already hard enough as it is.
