Third Person POV
Harrison was currently hovering over the toilet just down the hall of the living room. They had been watching the news and what they saw was terrifying.
Lydia: Holy shit...
Carolina: Over forty found... dead?
The news channel refused to show much as the sight was gruesome as within the hospital was an entire hall coated in blood and organs. It looked like it was straight out of a horror film. One of the nurses described watching a patient explode into blood after they tried running out of their room with only some crushed bones and mangled organs left. Over forty people, patients, and nurses alike, suffered this gruesome and painful death. They didn't even know why.
Lydia: W-wait... where was this again?
Carolina: Kettering Health Hamilton...
Lydia fell back onto the floor and covered her mouth. She was working there and had called off sick so she could come to the L/N residence. Nurses and Doctors she knew were either dead or traumatized. She just barely avoided that fate or at least, just the dead part. It was hard for her to try not to cry, a sight that made it hard for Carolina to stay strong. The same fate could have befallen Indigo if that demon went there instead. Everyone else was just as shocked by this event.
Dustin: You've gotta be shitting me. First thirteen in Dayton, now over forty in Cincinnati?!
Nancy goes over and pulls Sonya into a hug as she looked shook to the core.
Nancy: You made the right choice bringing them here. It's far too dangerous to go back.
Helene then walks in and was somewhat confused by all the expressions.
Helene: Is everything alright?
Pablo looks over at her and gestures toward the stairs.
Pablo: Take your brothers upstairs. They can finish that later.
Helene: But-
Pablo: Do it!
The fear that dripped in his voice and the look of worry in his eye were enough to compel the oldest sibling to do as she was told. The second sister, Peggy, then walks in just as confused as Helene.
Peggy: What's going on?
Marco: I think it's best you see it for yourself.
As Marco handed his phone over to Peggy, her face turned blue like her father's. The flooring was then cracked by the sheer force Kai'sa put into her fist. She wasn't far away from the hospital as she was perched on a roof nearby. Evelynn was long gone with no clear trace of where she went.
Kai'sa: Damn it! I...!
It was her duty right now to prevent this from happening and she was failing. She then falls to both knees as Evelynn's magic begins to take its toll again. The pain was really bad but she continued to endure it still. As she went to get up, she leans her head over and spits out some of her own blood, indicating that the magic was getting more volatile. If it wasn't for the immortality provided to her by the mark, the magic would eventually kill her. Unfortunately, this is a double-edged sword. She can't die, meaning the pain may never stop even after it completely eats away at her insides.
Kai'sa: At this rate, two days will be too long.
After finding her footing, she launches into the sky to return to Dayton. Securing the surrounding area around the L/N's was now her top priority. She would have to be extra thorough this time as there was no guarantee that Evelynn will play fair. Speaking of Evelynn, after having fun with her new toy, she retreated into the Rentschler Forest Metropark which was now mostly empty as the news had spread across the city. As she stood atop a rock with water pouring down it, she allowed some of the blood on her body to drip into the water. She was completely covered in blood.
